Map stuck in drag

Probably a really simple answer for this but oh well. When i zoom into the map screen to a certain distance all i can do is drag the map around. How do you zoom back out again? Mousewheel and the zoom buttons dont do it.

The mousewheel zooms in and out. If not, then I suppose either you are not rolling it out far enough or you have a mouse problem.
