Btw, I always wanted to know if you based the textures for your UI on Aion's tga files or did you take them from screenshots (aka jpg quality)?

This was made before Aion came out so i had to use screenshots.

I can try to find the tga's on my HDD (or some USB stick...) if you care. Would increase quality quite a bit.

How do you find out what textures a frame uses.
I tried using framestack to no avail.

I just go based on add-on and the strata I have it set to.

I have the Aion .tgas still, if Dawn is referring to the ones I PMed once. The link is still valid, but I can't post it here publicly due to forum rules. If you want to, I can PM it to you to.

Drop shadows are good. They make your UI elements stand out making them easier to track. I'm still using my Roth UI. Still not getting bored.

Yes that are the files we used. You gave us the tga version which was perfect.

@Haylie: Well do you (and others) find the shadow effect any good? Is it to much? Is it to little? Is it just plain stupid?

@Zork: Are my shadows any good in your opinion? Does it make things stick out a bit? To much, to little?

@Feraldrood: Every shadow effect etc are kgpanels yeah. If I'm nto mistaken kgPanels has a keybind to find the right anchors in the "Keybinding" section. (escape -> Keybinds -> kgPanels). However AzCastbar won't have an anchor. The anchors to use for AzCastbar are for example "AzCastBarPluginPlayer", "AzCastBarPluginTarget" etc. Case sensitive ofcourse. Also the frames wont show up on the 'dummy' castbars (edit mode). Only on the actual castbars.

The bags are an edited version of Stuffing made by NiN. But with a shadow kgPanel behind it ofcourse.

In my opinion, shadows are a good thing in a few UIs. In yours it doesn't really fit since you're mixxing the clear, sharp pixel thing you've got going with the "fuzzy" shadow thing. If you'd dump pixelfonts and went for regular ones it might actually do a great deal.

Ofcourse, that's just my opinion.

I'm not a huge fan of shadows on UI elements myself, but I think if you like them then you should keep them. Unless of course you're going to release it to the public... then perhaps offer an option between the two.

I like them at their current state. But as Petrah said: If you like them its OK. Do not bother too much about other people. You are doing the interface for yourself in first place (atleast you should) and not for somebody else. If others like what you do it's a plus.

Well I like em, something different then what I usually do. Just wanted to make sure I did em a bit right. Second opinion is never bad I guess.

Might indeed look for a good non pixelfont. Tho I cant play for over a week anyway so...

I don't think pixel fonts and window shadows are a bad idea, I quite like them. The latest screenies Led posted look great to me while the previous ones weren't really my thing.

In the end, it all boils down to personal preference.
