Smith, Kirby, Swanborough, Hobbs here. All British as far as I can see. Compared to your clearly Scottish and mayhap Irish anchestry for you.

Rofl, I traced my family, and being British with the family of Smith mentioned ... wait for it .. 3 times. I grimaced at the thought of tracking them down

Fortunately my main Smith branch lived in a small village. Tracked them back to the 1500s Now if only I can track my Kirbys down beyond the 1800s. Darn Londoners with common names.

Yeah... the McClellans and MacGregors are obviously Scots... the Smiths are also Scots (Peter D Smith and John Smith of Brekken, Scotland and immigrated to Andover, Mass) The Piels are actually English though many assume they were German and, of course, Churchill goes without saying.

Among my relatives are General George McClellan of Civil War fame... he's the one who though a good offense was a well organized retreat ~lol~ There's also a General George McClellan who was head of allied intelligence for a brief time in WWI but was killed by the Germans via an envelope containing "sleeping powder" -- espionage... how cool is that? ~lol~
