Right Click Self Cast

Hello! Lovely mod. I have fell in love with your UI and now am in a process of tweeking it some.

As a person that has all 4 healing classes max level, one small problem I'm having is not being able to right click on the action bar and automatically have that spell cast on myself (even if I have a friendly or MOB targetted).

I use to use a mod called rselfcast (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-a...ect-15028.aspx) but it doesn't seem to work with NUI.

Could you please help me and point me to the solution?

I do use Clique mod and love it but I will not do what I am needing as it is a click to cast for unit frames....not for the action bars.

/hugs to you and thank you so much for taking time to create such a wonderful mod. After years of using compilations and jumbled addons stuck here and there....I can say you have 'rocked' my world with one easy to install and NO configuring is needed. This is especially nice since I am not very good with computers.

Maybe another user has a solution... in the meantime, I'll look into it and see what I can do.

Someone asked me to ask you...did you configure the action bar mod from scratch or are you using Blizzard action bars and just moving/sizing them?

The reason is the rselfcast is made to react with the Blizzard bars..maybe that is the issue?

I know Bar4, Dominos and the such have an option you can 'click' in their GUI to 'turn on' self right click casting if you prefer...I suppose this is because they do not use Blizzards bars and create their own bars instead.

Just a thought though I haven't a clue what I just said or if it makes any sense

I've been told I'm clueless a time or too... mostly ex-wives though and they kinda tend toward a hostile approach of sorts. ~grin~

Yes... nUI has coded its own custom bars, which is the source of the issue. I'll have to do some research and figure out how to add the support you need unless someone else is aware of a mod that can do it.

Not to suggest something you may have thought of already however, it occurred to me that a possible fix could be something along the lines of a check box within the NUI GUI that would allow the user to toggle the right click self cast of they wished. Such as what Bar4 and Dominos uses.

I have tried a few other right click mods and none seem to work.

Or if a line can be added within your bar code that the user could do a 'true' or 'false' thing within the line. I have seen those before in files.

Just a few more thoughts from the one too busy making paper airplanes in class and tossing them down from cheap seats.

Yeah... that's the easy part. ~grin~ It's the making it actually self cast when you right-click and it's turned on thing that might be a challenge.

Oh... and some of those airplanes were kinda cool. Especially that one that landed on the prof's lectern.

This one was updated for Wrath, I don't think the one you linked was. Yours was updated Sept.

Sadly, Yhor, that doesn't work either.

It's not a deal breaker with me and the mod, to be sure! I wouldn't want to cause a fuss over something I can simply re-train myself to do differently.

I certainly appreciate the efforts in finding a solution and will tap the minds of friends when I catch them on as I have turned quite a few eyes toward this mod in hopes of more support for NUI and it's continued development.

This mod sells itself, at least for me. I was using upwards of 52 to 59(whateveritscalled for mod usage) and after WotLK I started to try and slim down those numbers because of lag and hangups occurring during play.

In any event, not a biggie on the right-click-self-cast issue. It's a valuable feature and certainly worth having. I'll figure it out.

I'm kind of still reeling from the shock of last Friday's announcement and trying to make sure all of the i's are dotted and t's crossed, etc.

There's a few announcements coming in that area in the next day or two... I'm just working on the infrastructures, etc. to support it and then I'll get back to new code and such. This one should be pretty easy to squeeze into the code base.

I'll try and fit some testing in with my priesty/druid healy type gals and see if I can see whats up.

I use healbot at the moment as it seems alot easier to use than clique but then thats me.

Just out of curiosity doesn't blizz have an option for self casting with a modifier in the options? Well maybe not as basic as right clicking, shift left or shift right click might work for you in the mean time

Yes, it does. That's what I'm retraining my mind to use for now

I've been out of school, oh, some 20 odd years now....my son still dreams of 'going to the moon' if only to get some peace and quite. lol

A bit more work, but shouldn't a macro for each spell (or a modifier in the macro) work for this ?

Something like

/cast [button:1] spell1 [target=player,button:2] spell2

Or

/cast [modifier:shift, button:1, target=player] [modifier:shift, button:2, target=player] Greater Heal; [modifier:ctrl, button:1, target=party1] [modifier:ctrl, button:2, target=player] Flash Heal; [nomodifier, button:1, target=party1] [nomodifier, button:2, target=player] Renew
