map wont open

for some reason the carbonite map wont open on my main char but on my alts it works just fine even tried to re install it and removed those addons that whas on the list that wont work to well with carbonite dont even see any error msg pop up in bugsack atleast not related to carbonite even tried the 3.0 version still the same and its only on my main char a tauren druid it dont show up just rather wierd that it works fine on 9 other chars and not on my main char

Go into the directory where all of your characters are located

C:\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\ACCOUNTNAME\ServerName\

Find the character that's having the issue with the map and temporarily rename it.

Example:

Shinzon rename to shinzon.bac

Log into the game and see if you still have the issue.

yep still no map just wierd its the only char it wont work on

Try clicking once on the Carbonite minimap button. I know, basic solution, but sometimes the map gets "hidden" and clicking the button can bring it back.

Do you see any signs of Carbonite on that character? Minimap button? Title graphic?

See if the checkbox is gold in the addons list. Silver means it is only loading for some characters.

its yellow so its active and i do see the minimap button and the splash screen as well on login also tried to go in to options and reset it all it just dont want to show me the map when i press m for wich is the default key since i havent changed that have also tried to click on the button still the same even tried to disable all addons but carbonite and it still dont work

Check your keybindings for that character and see if you can reset the m key to bind to the Carbonite map.

there is no keybinding for carbonite map it self since it should overwrite the default map and use its keybinding if im right tho i have tried everey single keybinding options there is for carbonite to no effect to show the map tho when i use Alt +M it opens the default map

You may have moved it offscreen.

Try: Options -> Reset -> 'Reset window layouts of current character'

It's possible your saved vars have gotten corrupted somehow. Try renaming them temporarily, restart the game and see if that helps.

Out of curiosity, were you running Carbonite Quest before this happened?

i have tried to delete the saved variables for carbonite and yeah i used the free version before but made a clean install of it deleted saved variables in everey folder i could find any trace of it infact i have deleted them a few times with no luck

New error when trying to use the world map. No other addons were on when i got this error. I continue to get multiple errors with carbonite only on my main that was my registered toon for carbonite prior to the change all others work fine.

For that to happen, your WTF\Account\<name>\SavedVariables\Carbonite.lua would have to be corrupted.

Exit the game and delete the WTF\Account\<name>\SavedVariables\Carbonite.lua file.

Another weird error that should never happen. Probably from Carbonite.lua file corruption as I mentioned before. Since all those addons are shown in your error report, I would guess they are loaded.
