[Mage] Talented spells dont show on the cooldown bar

First off, I love this addon. Thanks for all your hard work!

My mages talented spells (Ice Barrier, Dragon's Breath, etc.) dont show up in my cooldown bar. Spells that dont require being talented into (Blink, Evocation, etc.) show up no problem. It seems really important to know when those talented abilities are off cd, so I'm sure its in here and i am just missing it. Help?

*It looks like its not just talented spells. Just noticed that Frost Nova and Cone of Cold also do not show on my cooldown bar.

Hmm... are you using the '/nui maxauras {n}' command?

I presume you area referring to nUI5 and not nUI6, yes? I would be curious to know if they work correctly in nUI6.

I have my max aura's set to 40. I think I may be using the wrong term for my issue. The cooldowns arent showing up in the cooldown section of the HUD display, and its only some spells. I currently have my cool down minimum set at 2. When I cast blink, evocate, mage ward, or mana shield, their cooldowns are correctly displayed in the HUD. However, when I cast frost nova, cone of cold, Dragon's Breath, or Ice Barrier, they are not displayed in the HUD.

I am using nUI5. I am not sure about nUI 6. I was waiting to see if nUI5 would do everything I needed. I assume when you refer to nUI6, you are talking about nUI+.

No... nUI6 is the new version of nUI that I am currently developing. nUI5 is at "end of life" and there's a whole new rewrite of nUI in testing now. I am not going back and "fixing" things that require rewrites in nUi5 for that reason.

I'm not sure why frost nova and such would not appear on your cooldown bar. I'm going to have to look into it. They should if they are in your spellbook and they have a cooldown. If they are not in your spellbook, that would be why they are not on your cooldown bar.

Went back and looked. They are in my spell book. Thanks for your time, I completely understand not wanting to fix nUI5 if we are moving to bigger and better things. Speaking of which, where would i go about downloading nUI6? it sounds like its available, but the only downloads I can find are for nUI5.

You don't see the nUI6 download link because you are not a member of the nUI+ user group. You can find info on how to get access to the nUI+ download area here: http://www.wowinterface.com/forums/a....php?f=99&a=19

And just for your peace of mind Scott, the cooldowns on talented mage spells (ie - deep freeze) work just fine in nUI 6. The only thing I have noticed not show up there (and that's a conditional no-show) is if I go start doing some archeology, the survey does not show on my cooldown bar until I actually cast a spell first. Once I have cast at least one spell from my spellbook, then the survey icon shows on the cooldwon bar with everything else.

Interesting. Does survey show up in your spell book?

I didn't even think to look, but I will definitely look into that when I get home from work. I have no idea off the top of my head if it's in there or not.

I reported this problem (and posted a fix) a couple months ago...Here is what is going on:

The problem is due to the new fly-out menus and the way that nUI scans through the spellbook to build its tables of spells. The fly-out menu skills (mage ports, pet summons) fool the algorithm which builds the list into thinking it has reached the end of the spellbook before it actually has. Any spell which comes after a fly-out spell (and Survey is one example I know of for sure, because I started looking through the code for a problem when it was appearing for some of my characters but not others) will not appear on the c/d bar.

Here is my original post with a fix attached: http://www.wowinterface.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=37598

Yeah... I had completely forgotten about that. Which would also be why it's working in nUI6 now (for the most part) -- I'll double check though... I might still be testing for nils and aborting the loop.

Ok, I looked through my spellbook and did not see survey in there at all. I wasn't expecting to see it there since it's really driven by my profession. So maybe that's why it doesn't show in the cooldown bar until after I cast a spell from my spellbook.

Thanks for your replies. I went ahead and submitted a request to join the nUI+ user group. Looking forward to trying out nUI6!
