POI's not showing up on maps

The standard POI"s such as mail box, inn, Flight station, banks, etc, are not showing up on my mini map or world maps..on any maps. Can someone please give me some troubleshooting advice on this problem.....Thank you very much

Click the "magnifying glass" (might be right click) minimap icon and in the "Townsfolk" fly-out, make sure the icons you want to see are checked there, along with anything you want on the general menu.
