Exclamation Moving aura bars

It would be nice if the aura boxes were movable using /nui movers.

And/or bring back the old style aura as I kinda liked that, but you allready said you would try to make an optional module for that.

Anyway, is there a way to show when a DOT, and other spells, "ticks" ? Sort like Forte does in it's dottimers, or SCT but less space occupied.

For instance casting drain soul and and needing to refresh a DOT, it would help a bit to see when DS is going to "tick" compared to the last tick of said dot (is it worth to wait x time or stop channeling DS and cast the dot).

Unfortunately, the aura bars are not their own frames, they are sub-frames of the unit frames. There isn't actually an aura bars frame, there's one each for the player, pet and target in the solo player unit panel, another one each in the party unit panel, another one each in the raid 10 panel, etc. Effectively, there's one aura bars frame for every unit frame "mode" for the player, the target and the player's pet... so there's no way to move it with a single mover.

This is one of those things that will have to be addressed when the GUI layout tool is created. Until then, I'm afraid it just can't be done.

Sorry.

Now... as far as bringing back the old style aura buttons as an optional plugin... that will happen. I'm just not sure when. Soon is the best I can offer... my hands are just a tad full atm.

Oooh, that's bad. My wife will probably want her half of the donation back until this can be done. She's a healer and in Raids those buff windows will get in her way too much.

Please give this a high priority. I love most of the pro features of nUI 5, but this is a step in the wrong direction for those of us using nUI to remove screen clutter.

I'm actually surprised by that as the aura bars strike me as being far cleaner than the pile of aura icons all across the bottom. But everyone has their own preferences I guess.

Hey bud, you up late or early?

It's kind of funny that you say that. The purpose for nUI in my mind is to remove many of the windows that are in the middle of the screen (Chat, MiniMap, Recount, Omen, etc.) And move them all down so the middle of the screen is just for the world view. By putting these new aura windows back into the display area it feels like a step backwards.

I know my wife and I fell in love with the interface for exactly that reason. Too much clutter in the main view with so many addons. You make the bottom of the screen the "Control center" while the rest of the screen is our view of Azeroth.

I understand your point, but I think you may have missed what many of us chose nUI for to begin with
