Out of curiosity, if you disable *all* addons (including nUI plugins) other than nUI itself and Prat, do you get the error?

(I just want to eliminate any risk of complex interactions being at cause and see if it is specifically the interaction of nUI and Prat with each other that's causing the error)

Here's another try at a fix of the conflict with Prat... lemme know if this cleans it up for you.

Also, if you would, do this while Prat or Chatter is enabled...
  1. log out to the character screen
  2. click "AddOns"
  3. disable nUI (gasp)
  4. Close the addon menu and enter the world
  5. Unlock the chat frame and move it to the middle of the screen then relock it
  6. Log back out
  7. click "AddOns"
  8. enable nUI again
  9. close the addon menu and enter the world
Make sure nUI sitll correctly relocates the chat frame onto the dashboard, but after that does not cause any more chat errors to be thrown.

100% error free now! I decided to just download the latest file you posted and logged right in without fiddling with anything first, and it loaded perfectly the first time. I did a /reload, and no errors to be found. At least for me, this is a case closed.

That's great news!

I would like to verify that it will still correctly anchor the chat frame if it is out of position when you log in and you have Prat installed (which is what those instructions test)

This happened upon first loading after your instructions. A /reload didn't show the error.

Logging out and logging back in... produced the same error. :P

For me the file in post 102 has fixed my problems.
Using Nui 5.06.29+ and prat 3.3.26, I get the non-existant tabs and an error.
Overwrite the file and try again, and all chat tabs present and no errors on login either.

So for me the last attempt is a good fix.

The latest file has corrected all errors when running the latest NUI and Prat for me.

These are the chat tabs how they have been on the Nui chat window for a while, and how they are on one toon. But they have all gone on every other toon, and the RL doesnt bring them back. Since .30 they are consistantly there now (yay), and if a create a tab it stay there. The little down arrow in a box to the RHS of private is not on any other toon which usually has a list of filters.

Do all your characters have several tabs like in that screenshot ? If not that would be why the arrow doesn't appear. All that does is list the extra tabs in the drop down menu for you to select to display instead of one of the ones already on display.
