It also helps to post any errors you are getting. Saying broken doesn't really help. If you dont have one i would suggest grabbing an error addon like bug grabber and bug sack. They will allow you to copy and post errors.

I'm not getting specific bugs, but I'm noticing problems when I click on a quest. The arrow that points me to my direction doesn't function properly; it's pointing me in the wrong area or sometimes takes a few seconds to load the arrow at all. Problematic since the latest WoW patch.

LUA Error Fix

From what I have read, people have found a way to fix the constant errors that carbonite is having by fixing the LUA file. I don't have a program for editing such files and was wondering if someone could upload the fixed file somewhere so I could replace it and continue running my favorite addon.

You can download the needed programs for free. TextPad and Notepad++ (as well as a few others) can be found with a simple google search and are both free.

Then you can look here for the solution. http://www.wowinterface.com/forums/s...0&postcount=30

The box that says Carbonite at the top of the screen doesn't disappear like it's supposed to and that's when the error comes up. I did the fix from the other thread but it didn't do anything. I'm getting about 16fps in the middle of nowhere when I usually get 60, also.

MidgetMage55, your signature is... stupid.

If you support good grammar, why near the starting of the animation does it say "Dont you get it?"

Anyways, Carbonite is throwing out >10 Lua errors per second on my PC. It's disabled until an update.

Causing very low frame rates in 3.3.5

I usually get 40 fps but when i logged in after the patch i was only getting 6. I updated all my drivers and checked the running temp of my pc and everything was fine. I then started disabling my add ons one at a time and logging back in. After disabling carbonite, my fps jumped back to 40. I did this for all my add ons and carbonite was the only one that affected my fps. Just thought you should know. Not using until an update is offered

A friend of mine and I both use this addon, and as soon as the new update released me and him both had this error. i was so used to haveing low fps that i didnt even notice, and he was just sure his graphics card was dieing, then i realised that it was carbonite and i promptly made a quick fix. all this does is remove a few lines from the carbonite.lua, and this is not intended to be a permanent fix, it's just so you can use carbonite up until they release a 3.3.5 patch for it.

Instructions:
1.)download and unrar the file. if you dont trust it dont do it.
2.)inside of the file is carbonite.lua and carbonite(original).lua, the carbonite.lua is the fix, and the carbonite(original).lua is the original one. if at any time you no longer want to use this fix, just delete the fix and rename carbonite(original).lua to carbonite.lua and place it in your carbonite folder. my directory is C:\users\public\games\world of warcraft\interface\addons\carbonite\
3.)replace the carbonite.lua in the formentioned folder with the one i have uploaded for you
4.)profit, lag is gone

url removed

I am well aware. Considering that the rest of the sig is correct I would venture to call that a typo. As a side note I did not create the signature. I merely copied it. If I knew how to fix it, it is reasonable to assume I would have. We shouldn't let a little thing like logic get in the way however.

And to JessiXx I would suggest attaching the file to your post in the editor (little paper clip) as the admins frown upon off-site download links.

You'd think if they frowned upon off-site links, they would fix carbonite asap. Go ahead and shoot the guy trying to help though, thats greatly appreciated.

The admins of wowinterface do not create or maintain carbonite. They are the ones that frown upon off-site downloads.

As I mentioned in my previous post you can simply attach the file to your message and it will be hosted here.

WOW, don't anybody rile up the carbonite users! They're getting more vicious all the time!

LAWL! ROFLMAO! THAT'S SO 1337!

Sorry, MidgetMage... I HAD to... There's a rabid Carbonite user holding a gun to my head...
