Those are both on the to-do list

I'd like to do some research into this actually. Use some of the upper left and right space (or a simple bar like Titan and Fu to start) that can hook into Broker.

Basically, at least to me, it seems that adding Broker support would be the easiest way to get that functionality in play, and have maximum compatibility with existing mod resources.

Don't know what route you were currently exploring in your to do list.

nUI already integrates with both FuBar and Titan... so you can install either. I will be adding integration with LDB as well as my own standard (which won't require the LDB library to be supported)

Just a thought, if you posted a copy of your to-do list as a sticky in this forum(suggestions) it might make it easier.

Actually I'd prefer you didn't. It is much easier to just use the best addon for those features you can find. Having nUI start doing all of the stuff that various other addons do would defeat the purpose of nUI being the clean UI, while other addons can provide what they do.

It would be sad if nUI got bloated with all sorts of info panels that some people want and others don't want. Let nUI be the layout manager, and let other addons provide the information.

Just my $0.02 worth.

There's actually a very good reason for adding my own standard and that is that nUI already has a complete user interface engine in it that collects and drives almost all of the critical in-game data.

Most other mods and bar plugins duplicate that effort which increases the load on the game engine.

What I want to do is allow other authors to tap into nUI's API to take advantage of that ability and then be able to attach their mods to nUI either via the unit frame panels, the info panels, the HUD or a bar. What I want to do with nUI's bar is make it possible for the same bar to support both LDB and nUI plugins... so the best of existing bar mods will continue to work with nUI and new plugins that use nUI's API can be added without the user having to have LDB.

nUI already supports Titan and FuBar, so no changes are required for them to continue to work. This angle allows the user to ditch either of those mods and plug directly into nUI in a seamless way while providing game engine features to future plugin authors which Titan and FuBar do not.

The reason that the things like gold tracking, durability, wardrobe and ammo would be incorporated directly into nUI is because they are fundamental to game play in my opinion (which is why Bliz actually added both currency management and wardrobe to some exent in 3.0/3.1) and space is already set aside for those four elements in the upper console (that's the blank space either side of the HUD selector button). Beyond that, I have no intention of building in any more bar plugins in nUI.

Don't know if any of that makes sense.

I understand what you are saying there Scott and I agree, anything that helps reduce the load on a system then better. And the fact you have an API that other authors can work with makes it even better.

I was just wondering about the wardrobe thing, are going to make it integrate with the new 3.1 system? Because as far as I know the 3.1 wardrobe system is basically like macros and there's no way to automatically change outfits.

That's exactly what they're like, which means extra space being used on an actionbar. Not so bad if you only have two sets of gear. But some people like to have more sets (lounging around town, fishing set etcetera).

Scott, didn't you mention at one time something about adding a similar thing to nUI like Autobar? I can see that being very useful with the new wardrobe system.
