3.0 crashing

I rolled back to 2.59 after several crashes, usually the crash happened when some event happened like an item proc or an attack then it would just freeze up and I would have to force wow to quit.

I went back to 2.59 as well. This seems to have helped stop the crashes.

I can confirm that I yesterday experienced several crashes. Was using 3.0. Mostly the game froze completely and I was unable to take any further action. I had to switch off the pc. Another time I got this error:

This application has encountered a critical error:

Not enough memory.

Program: C:\Programme\World of Warcraft\Wow.exe
Object: CFacet (.?AUCFacet@NTempest@@)

Requested 79102400 bytes of memory

One of your addons is requesting too much memory. Hard to say which one that might be unless you are either only running Carbonite, or if you're using several addons, you can figure it out by process of elimination (removing one addon at a time until you figure out which one is causing the issue).

I too have experienced roughly 12-15 crashes since I updated Carbonite to 3.0 yesterday. The game completely locks up, frozen. There are no error messages. Alt + F4 does nothing, however I am able to CTRL + ALT + DEL and end the process. When healing a heroic run, this can be devastating, luckily I was able to re-open WoW and login again before the group wiped.

I will further investigate this by making Carbonite my only enabled addon.

Tested with the 3.001 and it works perfect, no crashes, no lag. Just deactivate everything except carbonite and see if it works then.

That is not something you just fix, since addons normally cannot crash the game. Often crashes are a result of corrupted files.

I would:
1 Reboot the computer.
2 Delete the Cache folder.
3 Rename WTF folder to WTFold.
4 Start the game and test.

What version of WoW and of Carbonite do you have? Is the crash repeatable doing specific things? If so, then what are you doing?

I did all that before i posted here. Uninstalled it then reinstalled it, logged into game with it and it then when i disabled the minimap feature, tried to reload the ui and it crashed. Tried to log back in and it kept crashing on log in. I got this error with it at first. Do you think this may be a bug with the wow's changes to the minimap?

Very odd. I have never seen WoW crash because of that. Normally when you try to load a texture that can't be found it does nothing. That texture is one of the Blizzard minimap pieces of which around 20 had their names change, since Blizzard recreated them due to world changes. I already have the names updated for the soon to be released Carbonite 3.31. I am trying to get it out tonight, but it will be late.

It may be due to the fact your running an older version of WoW (3.2.2 build 10505). The current build is 3.3.0 build 10958

If your getting errors running that build it can only mean one thing .. private server as an old build will not run without updating and as far as I know the Europe servers are also running 3.3.0 now. Talking about private servers or asking for help to get addons to work on a private server is not allowed here.

I suggest you go pay for WoW ... post reported.

I didn't notice the build number. WoW in any version has never crashed afaik from an incorrect texture name.

Er i actually have the latest version of wow, (the paid version) so stick your report up your arse. Also try looking at my signature before u accuse such things.

When i was updating to the latest patch however, i did keep getting errors saying that most of my files were read only. Didn't know how to fix it so i let my bf sort it out though. Do you think i should run repair tool or something like that?

Also i've just realised i posted an old error from September rofl

From what I can see, your signature says nothing about what version of WoW you have and you did post an error report saying "build 10505", so Sepioth was correct in assuming you were on a private server based on your info. I thought the same thing.

Read only? You could right click the World of Warcraft folder in file explorer, select Properties and see if Read-only is checked.

I apologize for assuming you where on a private server but from the info you posted one can easily come to that conclusion .. even Cairenn must of had some suspicion if she asked where you played.

I fail to see how you sig says you play on a Live server and not a private one ... BUT doing a search for that character name on the EU Armory does in fact show a Lvl 80 in that guild with that name ..

So again I apologize ...

Not to get in the middle - but her signature has her on Chamber of Aspects - EU server. I believe that's what she was referring to?
