UI question

I’m pretty new to mods, never having installed anything but Atlas before. I found this one and really liked the look of it. http://www.wowinterface.com/download...lution_UI.html

Unfortunately, it no longer looks to be supported, and I feel like I should go to one of the larger mods like CTMod if I always want to ensure that my game always works with the latest patch. One of the features I really liked from the Revolution mod, however, were the little ( ) symbols around my character, as well as the integrated chat box. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get one or both of these features added to CTMod? Maybe an alternate mod that works well with my class (rogue) and has the features I like? Again, I’m very, very new to this, so thanks in advance.

Why not simply look for updates of those addons included in your mod yourself?
With programs like WUU this takes a minute a day, you don't have to download the whole package and so on.

Updating the addons yourself is a good option, or try out an updated compilation (Genesis, Seerah's Suitcase, Gemini_UI, etc.)

You could give a list of what mods you "need" and we'll see what we can suggest. You might try Prat (from http://files.wowace.com) for you chat needs. It does tons of stuff for chatboxes.

Thanks for all the helpful responses! Like I said, I'm really new to this. I started playing WoW literally a week ago.

Blackmage - your mod looks excellent! The text is a little small and hard to read, and there's a few too many elements for me, but I like the style and especially the way combat plays out. Is there any way to keep only the ( ) around myself and the target and the damage text that pops up?

Gemini - thanks for the helpful link! I'll definitely check it out once I'm off work. But what I'm looking for is something like this: http://www.ctscreens.net/8763

Not all those elements, but a few. Particularly the ( ) around myself and the target. I don't like the 3D full body models, but I like the way the chat window is integrated into the screen. I really, really like the top bar that says AtlasLoot. I just realized the bottom says Mazzle UI, so maybe I'll look there.

That UI looks like Mazzle. MazzleUI's author has quite playing but I think some fans have something working.

To make your chat "integrated" like that, you use something like eePanels to make texture backgrounds that you put behind your bars and chats. Read up on eePanels for a better description.

Lots of options for unit frames and bars for you as well. XPerl, Pitbull, or ag_UF are some sugestions for unitframes and Trinity, Bongos, and Bartender for bars.
