Lightbulb Shaman: Organising Raid Totems

With the changes to totems in 3.0.2 making the effects raid wide (within distance), its becoming annoying for every shaman when they see other shamans dropping the same totems. It becomes strenuous when you have to talk to every single shaman in every raid you group with to organise totem drops.

Every shaman I have talked with has agreed with me, we shamans need an addon for organising totems within raids/dungeons; something like 'PallyPower' for Paladin blessings.

Other shamans feel free to voice opinions here, I'm interested to know if anyone can make such this addon - I'm sure I can't at the moment with my level of scripting knowledge lol.

Despite being in the wrong subforum I have to admit. That is a great idea. The concept would work exactly the same, too.

I can't think of how many times I've seen 3+ Wrath of Air totems go down, and no Windfury.

Would that be enough?

- a mechanism to broadcast the totem you will drop
- a small overview with all shamans and the broadcasted totems they will drop

That should be easy to create, easy to handle, and very lightweight.

[edit]
Just did a quick check-up. Could it be possible that shamans have 22 different totems to choose from? oO

Well yeah this kind of addon would be highly usefull, and to broadcast the cast totems to the addon users (possibly a hidden channel for the addon?) and also the ability to quickly replenish the totems already up if needed.

I know theres addon bars & boxes to hold the totem spell icons but an actual addon to coordinate totems in a raid... we'd definetely need one.

As i see it the principal idea behind is simple enough that some addon maker probably could do it in a day?

Well thats my input, sorry for the bad english and kinda adhd writing style

I for one would definitely jump on board (to use. I couldn't code to save my life) for a ShammyPower addon. My two mains are a Pally, and a Shammy. PallyPower is so great for raids. It would be awesome to have one for Shammies.

Yes there is alot of totems haha. The total number of totems comes up at 24 I think. Not one shaman can get all the totems though as 2 are from different specs.

I was also thinking that if this was done, specs would be included. Say make an Enhc Shaman drop certain totems if they're specced into an improved version.

PallyPower does support different specs (Kings, Sanc) so I'm sure it would be possible for the same to be applied to a 'ShammyPower' addon.

This sounds like a great idea. I know I would use it with my shammy.

I'm working on it. Need a few more days.

Guess you won't raid the next days, or?

I had several requests for something like that for TotemTimers, so I have been working on that for a bit.
Instead of adding it to TotemTimers, I packaged the configuring part into a separate addon, RaidTotems, which communicates with TotemTimers which in return sets its cast buttons as requested by RaidTotems.

The goal would be to get it to work with several totem addons so that shamans do not have to use a specific addon for casting but can keep the ones they have now.

Anyone still needs the addon I described below, or is Xianghar's solution enough?

Xianghar's addon is not working for me at this point.

I download and installed it, when i let my other guild-shamans install the Patch aswell. But when i'm in a raid, i see like half my raid in the addon.

Any similar problems or solutions?
