Whats up with 1.10 increasing the UI memory?

I saw a post in the Blizz UI forums about this same thing, and I am definately experiencing it as well. Pre 1.10 my UI averaged about 32 mb, now Im averaging 43ish. I have no new mods installed, and all I have done is upgrade any of the mods I used to use to the latest 1.10 versions.

Anyone else seeing this and have any idea why its happening?

The system now counts the Blizzard Forced Mods which are not visible in the addons directory, so your size will have increased due to that.

I have the same problem. My UI mem usage went from ~44mb to 68mb after the patch. The only changes I made were to REMOVE two addons.

Yes, I think the max you can set it to is either 64 or 96. Just remember the more you allocate the more it can affect UI lag which ill lower your framerate.

As long as you have enough ram in your box I don't think changing the value does anything to your performance. I think if you set this to high and don't have enough ram this will cause lag

well if you dont have it set high enough wow can crash, Best solution for machines with High ram is to set the threshold to "0" that makes it unlimited. been runnin a 0 for over a year now .. got tired of having to worry about my UI overhead.

shouldnt be a problem .. all your doing is setting a prescribed chunk of ram for your UI. if you have enough ram in your system you will be fine .. if you have alot of ram you can just set it to 0 like I did , that makes it so your UI wont be limited to a specific footprint.

This is just wierd.
I have 2Gb ram, running 7800GTX card and i seem to have alot of UI lag.
I just had to turn it up to 128, i had it set to 76 earlier with no problems at all.
Now... well at times i think im on a callculator, at times it totaly freeze for 1-2 sec.. or frames drop to between 5-8/sec.

I use Insomniax Recompilation version 10900.1 with a few things turned off, and some things things is off now cause blizz fixed so they dont work.

Dont know what to do.

Hey,

Back in 1.9.4 i set it to 200mb because i had quest history which needed a lot. Titan Panel's performance plugin says i useabour 24-32mb.

No, nothing wrong, everyone will have those 10 folders in their Interface\Addons folder. You can delete them but WoW will recreate them the next time you log in. I think Janias meant that those 10 Blizzard addons are not visible at the in-game Addons menu, the one accessed by clicking the "Addons" button at the character selection screen!
