4.0.3a + Carb 4.030106 + No addons error

Prior to the 4.0.3a patch I was happily using Carb 4.012 with very few issues. Since patch + upg to 4.030106 I get the following with no addons enabled:

P.S. Had a look into carbonite.lua thinking it looked like a simple problem .... OMG how do you guys get your heads round this stuff? And over 26000 lines of code!!! Happy to wait for a solution.
