Right lets hear some ideas about a healer mode in nUI!

You have already heard my annoying "Fine Tuning" As Vis so eloquently put it. What do you guys think?

My intent, for healy mode is a modified layout that groups all of the unit frames together in a more simplified GRID like layout with indicators for disease, curse, etc., -- as for predictives... errr... not right away. In any event, the healy mode would be about getting unit frames organized in a friendly whack-a-mole configuration and clean clear indications on health and status.

Well I DO love Wack-A-Mole That could explain some of my deep rooted issues with violence in unnecessary situations....

But enough about my mental dilemmas that sounds to me like a great starting point for the healer mode. Merge that with Clique until you can merge in your own system to the mod and you have a halfway there product IMO Cant ask for more in a first swing at bat eh?

What were your plans for tanking and DPS?

Were you thinking of having a different display for DPS? I honestly thought that the default was pretty damn nice myself. :P

The default is, for all practical purposes, the DPS mode... tanking mode would be very similar, as well, with a few tweaks... mostly to the HUD

Yea not that I tank much since I absulutley despise tanking myself, but the UI seems that it would be more than adequitte for Tanking.

Although one REALLY cool feature would be a realtime aggro warning that would make the party frame anyone who steels aggro off of something glow red and with a simple click or key+click binding on that players frame you could target the mob that was targetting them

Kinda like Clique healing.

That would make quick target hopping super fast and efficient.

Well, of course, it already does the red highlight for whoever has agro... the click to target the unit's target would be a bit trickier.

Agreed -- the hard part is figuring out how to make that work without conflicting with other mods.

I guess it would almost require embedding your own "Clique LIKE" coding to allow such click/key+click bindings huh?

Granted it would be nice so i could nock out one more of my MANY addons as I use both Healbot AND Clique incase Healbot diesides it wants to mess with me and glitch out to make my life a living hell I have a backup.

Who says you can never be too prepared?

IDK anything about coding but couldnt you just make it a macro binding built into nUI that would just target the targets target? And possible make it an option to that could be disabled incase someone has an addon that might interfere with this action? Such as Clique? not that a tank would be using that typically...

The problem with things like that (a macro) is that so many people use nUI (over 300,000 downloads now and rapidly approaching 400,000) that there will be many who have used up all of their macro space, many who want that click to do something else, etc.

Ultimately, it comes down to having to have Clique type configurability in the action bars... which in due time I will. However, for now, Clique does what it does well enough without being a "problem" that I'm satisfied to go with integration of it as I do and then let the user configure it however they like.

Sounds like a sound way to go about things.

I aggree that its not a very important added feature, and I havent messed Clique to see if it has the target the targets target ((I love typing that riddle)) option but with everything else it has I'm sure it does.

Now my next suggestion is to create a key bound function where nUI would wipe my ass and bring me a beer since that seems to be the only thing its missing now.

Oh and perhaps bring me a cookie and some milk each time I ding. :P

BTW: It occurs to me, given the limited resources available and the need to code for efficiency, the "WipeMyAssAndBringMeABeer()" function has been designed slightly differently than you might have anticipated... again, for the sake of efficiency the design is as follows...

SO! I gave nUI its first instance test and I gotta say it did 200%

I four manned SFK with:

20 Priest
20 Marskman Hunter
19 Affliction Warlcok
25 Ret pally without a shield and new to tanking, quite literally his first time.

And to make it better the hunter kept steeling aggro, and the warlock was lifetap spamming mid fight to the point where SHE would steel aggro with like 6 health left.

And to make THAT even better I DID IT WITHOUT MY TALENTS! I had the mark em before you spendem and forgot to hit spend at the bottom!

I pwned the healing on that SOO much nobody even dropped below half health and I never dropped below half mana. And with some practice on Clique my overhealing has become minimal.
