Bottom bar

Hello RealUI people!

I've been using this wonderful UI for a while.

But I was away from WoW, and now that I'm back I noticed something new: The bottom bar.

I like the idea, it's very useful and practical, and at 1440p I definitely have space for it without it meddling with my screen.

But, it LOOKS different than the rest of the addon, it doesn't have the nice pixel fonts look.
Is there a way to skin that to match the rest of the amazing, crisp look of this UI?

EDIT: Obviously I know there IS a way, lol. But the real question is, did someone already do it?

Thanks!

So I've attached an image that actually shows the bottom bar skinned properly. This leads me to believe I have some sort of configuration or addon install issue on my end.

Help?

Ok, providing screenshot of the issue then. Maybe this encourages someone to speak up.

Looks more like a broken/missing texture if anything.

Or, some bug with Aurora where it's not allowing RealUI to skin it. Hmmm

Are you running the most current version of RealUI?

Try updating Aurora, it had an update earlier this week

Try turning off any other addons that might be conflicting with it

Maybe delete your cache and wtf files (although this a pain in the arse if you made changes to the UI but you can always make them again)

Falling that a fresh install

Ok so

I deleted all of my addons
Deleted the entire WTF folder
Even deleted the cache folder, both for WoW and Battle.Net

Installed ONLY RealUI

Problem persists.

Opened twitch and looked at the addons to be updated.
Aurora had one, and BadBoy had one.
Installed both updates.

Problem persists.

Any next steps?

The Infobar now also doubles as a status bar. You can cycle through XP, Rep, Artifact Power (at 101+), or Honor (at 110) by clicking on the progress watch block (right-most on the left side, per your screenshot), or you can disable the bars completely in options.

That said, it appears that the bar is currently set to show rep, which is colored green, and the tracked faction is at exalted (grats!).

I understand the new functionality of it.

What I'm trying to get right is the formatting.

From fiddling around with the settings, I discovered that the FONT of that bar is changed by changing the "chat" font option in RealUI settings.

Which is really weird...

The actual chat doesn't change when that setting is changed, but I presume this is because I'm also using Prat and Prat takes precedence in controlling the chat.

But if I just change the font there to the pixel font, to make it look like the rest of the UI, it shows up stretched and weird.
Knowing how pixel fonts work, I know this is because that bar is probably set to a font size larger than 8.

So my next step was trying to figure out a way to change the font size there.
Since there's no such thing in the chat font option in RealUI, and there's also no option like this inside Aurora (which is the addon I'm assuming does the replacing of that bar), I'm at a loss as to how to get that bar to look like the rest of the UI like it did before, hence why I started this thread.

Maybe I should've been more clear from the start.

So, solution?

I believe Gethe or Nib (I'm not sure who said it, forgive me!) said that the pixel font was being phased out from at least the bottom bar. I think this statement was made when the bottom bar was first changed and people were asking about it.

Nyxondra is correct in this, the pixel fonts are being phased out. You already hit upon one of the reasons for this, that they only look good at a very specific size.

So to answer your question, no there is not a solution because it is a feature, not a bug.

OHHHH.

Thanks for the clarification then!!!

But, I do have to say, knowing a little about pixel fonts, I want to suggest something.

Pixel fonts can only be used at size 8 because of the math involved in getting them to look right.
BUT the real size of the font can be any size!

If you download a few, and try them out, all at size 8, you can see they have different sizes.

My UI is customized with a number of different pixel fonts for this reason. I find it even easier to modify, since I can keep all my sizes at 8 and then change the font based on its real size.

Might be something to look into, to keep the crisp and cool look of this UI. It'll be really sad to see it go full aliased fonts.

And thanks for putting the work in such a great addon!

I am aware of some other pixel fonts being physically larger, but most pixel fonts are english only meaning they likely won't have the various diacritics that are common in european languages. In addition to that font files can be quite large, so adding a bunch of them just for the option of a larger font size is not an optimal solution.

I want RealUI to have a consistent look regardless of language.

But maybe let us change the font size there? For those of us who want the pixel fonts?
