Click quest tracker to complete?

Wife ran into a problem with the quest tracker. Quest for Horde in Eastern Plaguelands says to click the quest tracker to complete.

She clicked the red flashing text, but did not receive the quest complete dialog box.

Help please?

This appears to be the one blocking high sev issue with carb atm. It seems to actually cause you to miss some of the new style auto quests. It does work sometimes but seems random.

Did not "fix" it... it just worked.

I've experienced similar things in the new zone Shimmering Expanse. If I'm in combat, I cannot complete the quest.

If the ? does not appear in the quest tracker, I can click the small box (which normally shows a tool tip of quest text) to complete it.

Wife says the E. Plaguelands quest is bugged - you need to ditch your npc companion before you can complete the quest.
