problem i get with 3.21 carbonite.

I keep getting this msg every few seconds with the newest verison of carbonite. Never have had problems before this.

Message: Interface\frameXML\Cooldown.Lua:3: Attempt to compare number with Nil
Time: 08/06/09 02:23:13
Count: 40
stack: [string "Interface\frameXML\Basiccontrols.XML:<Script... "J:18:in function <[string "interface\FrameXML\BasicControls.XML :<Scrip... :J:4> [CJ:?
interface\frameXml\cooldown.lua:3: infunction cooldownframe_settimer"
interface\frameXml\cooldown.lua:1456: in Function "WatchframeItem_updatecooldown"
interface\frameXml\cooldown.lua:1472:in function "Watchframeitem_on event"
[ String "*: onevent "J: infunction <[string "*: onevent"J:1>

there was more to the message but that was the most part and it was the same thing showing up everytime.

I don't think Carbonite is the culprit, or if so, there's another addon causing problems with it.

Then perhaps it's WoW itself? Blizzard is no less flawless than any addon author.

The reason to why I suspect Carbonite isn't the criminal here is because, as you can see in the thread, a lot of others have the same problem, without running Carbonite. Plus, the error catcher you use (Swatter?) makes no mention whatsoever about Carbonite, as far as I can see.

got may issues with this version.
in combo with jamba 0.4g got 13 pages lua errors during 10 minutes of play, with final warning to block addon(s).
the worst thing is been i suffered a real huge "lag peaks" from all this errors. absolutly related with massive errors flux in ui.
disabled carbonite.
now zero errors.

it s bad for me. i loved this addon and it helped me a lot levelling my many groups.

Are you using 3.21 that was released last night? If yes, does it actually say 3.21 in the Carbonite minimap button tooltip?

If the error message does not say Carbonite.lua somewhere in it, then it probably has nothing to do with Carbonite.

Yesterday I was getting an error message about some game UI stuff every time I entered the world on any character. It was from the game. Today it is gone. Server reboots must have fixed that.

Because Carbonite version 3.21 was released before World of Warcraft patch 3.2. Don't worry, they're fully compatible.

almost same problem

have the wow program on two puters, PC and laptop. get the exact same error message on both when using quest items.

Message: Interface\FrameXML\Cooldown.lua:3: attempt to compare number with nil
Time: 08/09/09 17:58:40
Count: 4
Stack: [string "Interface\FrameXML\BasicControls.xml:<Scrip..."]:18: in function <[string "Interface\FrameXML\BasicControls.xml:<Scrip..."]:4>
[C]: ?
Interface\FrameXML\Cooldown.lua:3: in function `CooldownFrame_SetTimer'
Interface\FrameXML\WatchFrame.lua:1456: in function `WatchFrameItem_UpdateCooldown'
Interface\FrameXML\WatchFrame.lua:1472: in function `WatchFrameItem_OnEvent'
[string "*:OnEvent"]:1: in function <[string "*:OnEvent"]:1>

Locals: self = NxListFrms1Cooldown {
0 = <userdata>
}
start = nil
duration = nil
enable = nil
(*temporary) = nil
(*temporary) = nil
(*temporary) = nil
(*temporary) = nil
(*temporary) = "attempt to compare number with nil"

Have no other addons installed on either puter so see no conflict issues.

do not have the errors with ver 3.21 disabled or uninstalled, only when it is active so the conflict is def with it.

any suggestions would be very helpful before dumping the program

All versions of any World of Warcraft addon is free, as of May this year.

I believe WoWInterface lets you subscribe to addons, but I'm not familiar with it. Look around on the Carbonite download page.

Try pressing Alt-L to open the Blizzard quest log and expand all quest headers. Log out, log in and see if it happens again.
