really crappy frame rates in 25 raids

before i paste the dx info heres the mods im using.

atlas loot, auto aspect, carbonite, gatherer. nui+ with carbonite panel, nui no hud, the spiel skin, carbonite panel and the profession panel. using dbm, postal, skada, wim and titan panel. in old world i get about 30 40 fps. in dalaran i get about 12fps. normal dungeons about 17- 20 ish fps.

all my settings are on low with only exception view distance is half way. i disabled vsync in the game and on my vid card.

a guy in game told me that disabling explorer can help with fps but hasnt helped much.

i followed the instructions in scott's for better fps and i have /nui framerate at 15.

is there anyhting i can do to get better fps and trying to do the dance in naxx with 3 fps doesnt cut it. my comp is a little old, but it more than exceeds the game requirements. any help would be appreciated. thanks

Once I upped my memory to 4gb it helped big time. My only let down now is the processor which is similar to yours and my video card which is a lot better than yours.

Right now at almost midnight server time it is running at 6fps to 23fps in dalaran bank.

Someone with a similar problem to you isn't using nUI at all but has the same or similar hardware - or more precisely graphics card - as yourself.

What I did notice personally is that since 3.1 hit us the requirements seem to have changed because my computer had no lag problems before then and we know they added extra graphics options so now instead of running at mid to high settings I have to run at low to mid settings.

so i need to upgrade my hardware then. was hoping there was something i could do or unclick to help. and yeah i was using spartan ui before 3.2 then post 3.2 i ran into nui and everything was gravy, but now im having issues.

not sure if this will make a difference but i recently changed servers and now is when i noticed the sh!t fps. old server np, now crap fps. im on antonidas a heavier population maybe that may have something to do with it.

Yeah maybe. We're on a 4yr old server and its already had server upgrades and stuff but yeah I am looking into hardware upgrades to make my raiding easier. I've been lucky so far and it doesn't stay at a low rate but just peaks down low before running back up again.

I may be wrong but I think Silenia pointed out her high framerates with nUI on her *jealous mutter* super duper set up

You're running on a fairly old processor, and the video card is pretty low end as well. You can try to upgrade the video card, but you wont be able to get anything too high end. I would recommend trying out the low to mid range GeForce 8800 GT (or 9800 GT, same card) and seeing how that works for you. Keep in mind though that more than likely you will also need to upgrade your power supply in order to use that video card.

Since you're running XP Home Edition, there is no need to upgrade your RAM since it cannot use anything more than 2.5 GB of memory, so you're good on that front. More memory will not be beneficial to you unless you are running a 64 bit OS. You will also need to update XP to Service Pack 3 as the game is highly dependent on your system being completely up to date with the latest drivers and OS updates.

It's not going to make any difference regarding what server you go to, it's the graphics engine in the game. The last time they made an update to that was the Pre-WotLK bridge patch. That is the patch that brought a lot of the players machines to their knees. To keep up with the new graphics engine people had to upgrade their entire machines in order to be able to play the game and have the intended performance while using mid to high end in-game settings.

At this very moment, I would recommend updating to XP Service Pack 3, and updating your video card drivers. If you are able to update your motherboard chipset drivers then I would also do that, too.

Here's the video drivers that you need. It's an exe file, so you only need to save the download to your desktop and run it from there. Be sure to completely remove your current video drivers and reboot your machine before installing the new drivers.

You're welcome! I'm glad that the updates helped.

Video card drivers are updated fairly often, so be sure to check the nVIDIA site from time to time. If ever you install new drivers and funky things happen, it's no sweat to uninstall those drivers and go back to a previous driver update. Sometimes, but not often, new drivers can be kinda buggy.

Sometimes release versions do indeed have bugs. That's why I gave him the advice that I did.
