Hmmm... I wonder why the nUI6 memory usage increased by almost 2meg. I wouldn't have expected that to happen.

You can find it here: http://www.wowinterface.com/download...mory.html#info

It's just a LDB plugin (used with FuBar, ChocolateBar, etc.) that tracks memory use for mods.

nUI can display memory use on a much more limited scale, as well, just by mousing over the FPS/Latency bars... though it only shows the top three mods. (or is it 5?)

I was surprised to see a 2mb jump. Putricide always gives us a tad of trouble so we did have to release and flyback, repair, teleport back up, rebuff, and try again. So I'm not sure if visiting the vendors and all the buffs and rebuffs would increase the useage. Group of 10 was constant the whole 4 hours.

I'm raiding again tonight around 4pm game time. Sounds like most of the same group and we're going to continue our run into ICC 10man. Is there a logger I could get and run that would help you out here? I do run mods like hitsmode, but I haven't really delved into its options, so not sure if that'll help or not.
I'll be around the site most of the day so let me know what you need and I'll do what I can to help you here

It's possible that the GUID cache is not getting cleared out in which case the garbage collector would be unable to recover that memory.

I would be curious if you could test during tonight's run and see if the memory can be released or not when it gets larger like that.

You can force a garbage collection using... /script collectgarbage("collect");

I'd like to know if when you execute that command the nUI6 memory usage drops by anymore more than a few K of ram of the higher memory usage remains high.

Well we raided, for a while, and I did the collect garbage script a couple times and it did not change nui6 much 3.75mb down to 3.72mb after collection but nui6 did not get above 3.75 tonight. Could be we were working the blood princes for the first time so didn't do too much in the zone save for them.

Okay -- well, as you work the instance, keep an eye on it and let me know what you see. The encouraging thing is that memory usage seems to be quite stable and relatively low. That makes me happy.

Did some icc25 today, 4bosses.

Start of raid, before trash: NUI: 10,53MB NUI6 3,2MB
End of raid, after getting to stinky; NUI: 17MB, NUI6 3,75.

Fps was between 15-25 on bosses, 30-50 between.
I have locked fps at 50.

On an iMac 24", lastest model.

Do you happen to know what your average frames rates were on trash and bosses with just nUI5? (prior to, or without, the nUI6 alpha)

So far i am en joying the new alpha version...the display is nice and i had a great improvement with my hunter with the fps during a 25 man ICC.. but it might just be my personnal graphics card or not..when i was doing melee dps in 25 man ICC my fps dropped real low to the point i was only getting only 2fps..otherwise it works beautifully.. can't wait till you get the 25man/ 40 man frames reapplied..gettin kinda tired of the WOW interface of my picture and target being displayed again....keep up the great work..

So today a did a fun 10 man Raid in TotC (Trial of the Crusader?).

At Bosses I have a Framerate between 35 and 38 Frames (I playing with a very good machine for WoW, but with an old 19" CRT Monitor. (Res.: 1280x1024)

The RAM nUI6 need was at the beginning somewhere around 3,5MB and at the end at 4,2MB I used the script for the memory and it only change something about 0,05MB.

At Dalaran I have more frames then with nUI 5, because the TitanPanel Mod shows more times green frame rates then the yellow ones.

I'll have a look on Tuesday at ICC, but at the moment it seems to be really good. (Only thing what makes testing a little bit complicated are the broken cooldown timers, but I think I can give you some more experiences)

Addition: Today I did some heroic Dungeons and I m really suprisee how good nUI6 works.

I have almost more than 85 frames per second. That's more than my monitor can display. (Graphicsettings in WoW are at Ultra selection)

Can't wait for the next thing in the Alpha.

Thanks a lot Scott for your hard work.

ive tested NUI5 and NUI6 in 10 man raids.ive noticed that with NUI5 i got like 35 FPS in heavy aoe fights and with NUI6 i got round 50 or so.i tried to test it in a 25 man raid.with NUI5 i get like 15FPS during heavy AOE trash pulls but when i had NUI6 running i got like 50 FPS.so i nice jump in FPS to say the least.would like to test this with 25 man raid frames enabled to get a more accurate test for you.if its not to much trouble.but so far so good.

I was doing ToC 5 man when I saw this display bug in nUI 6. Note the problem with my ride.

Yeah -- I've seen that once before and I don't understand how or why it's happening. The big frame is the solo player frame which is attached to the solo player unit panel which is hidden, so how it's possible for that frame to display is beyond me.

I'm looking into it to try and figure out what's up with that.

Well raided again yesterday in ICC10 this time with my resto shaman (wheee)

With the vuhdo issues asside (lost hot icons for some reason and totally unrelated to nui) my memory usuage was similar to that of my hunter with slightly more memory usage due to some more healing/totem addons

105/35ish/3.3 upwards to 145/50ish/3.9

I did switch back to just 5 for a fast run and was around 110/50ish before I went back to 6.
My FPS didn't change all that much on my computer, from what I've seen, but granted I haven't been paying that close to my FPS as I should for this test
I'll try to do some more comparisons tonight during my raid and I'll see if I can switch between 5 and 6 a couple times and really get a good comparison for you.
Can't wait to see what new toys you'll have us play with in the next update
