giant nodes and orange marks in game window

Maybe its just a setting? but I've been turning things off and on to see if its a setting and I can't figure it out

is it some of the scale options? (right click on the map) screenshot would help.

I am also having an issue with giant mining nodes, they cover up map data when zoomed in. I've been unable to fix this by changing settings or reinstalling (I didn't delete variable data, I'd rather not have to go that far)

The character this was shot on does have mining, but does not have herb gathering.

Found the issue, it's not carbonite, it's gatherer. OP mentioned orange marks, that too would be gatherer.

I confirmed that disabling nodes on world map in GATHERER fixed the issue.
/gatherer -> Core Options -> General -> Uncheck "Display nodes on World Map"
