Bug #: 4318
File: WoWInterface UI Manager - Windows
Date: 03-26-08 08:12 AM
By: icemon
Status: Cant Reproduce
After Install the Ui Manager Recognizer all the Add-ons installed however it races down the list flagging all of them as Suspended:More Info Needed.

Perhaps because have 2 accounts on the same server? or maybe due to the recent 2.4 patch.

Have i missed something in the install i thought I read the instructions (for once) thoroughly.

I am having this exact same issue.

I manually resolved a couple of the addon's per the software request. I noticed that after the addon was updated through the UI manager there was a .toc file in the folder that wasn't there before. Is this the file that is required in order to successfully match the addon to wowinterface? I am using a compilation, so maybe the compilation author removed the .toc files. Just something I noticed, could be complete garbage. Hopefully Shirik can let us know!

Hi guys,

Sorry I missed this bug report earlier; it didn't get flagged for me in my portal for some reason.

Do you have your addons marked as favorites on WoWInterface? The updater can only automatically detect those addons which are marked as your favorites. Any other addon will have to be manually specified. You will only have to do this once, however; the updater will remember any addons you have identified, and when you install a new addon using it, it will automatically make the appropriate marks to remember that addon's identity.

bbarrett2868: What addon was this, specifically? Yes, the updater does use the .toc file to match information about the addon since it is the most reliable information available about any addon (almost every addon has at least the ##Name and ##Author fields filled out, which can then be used to match against version information on WoWInterface). I must admit I haven't considered the possibility of an addon missing a TOC file since they are required for addons to function -- in fact, it is one of the key files used in determining exactly WHERE the updater installs the files, because its location is very strict. I'd like to take a look at the addon you were having trouble with, if you don't mind. I just need a link or the name of it.

Marking this as awaiting feedback for now, but as far as I can tell this is not a bug (unless the addons WERE in fact in your favorites list, in which case there's something else going on).

Thanks for the report,
