    Unspecified I/O Error during Install

    When trying to install any add-ons I will receive an "Unspecified I/O Error" after confirming to install the add-on. I have never used this program before and have completely repaired my WoW install to a fresh copy.

    Noted add-ons I've tried are

    XPerl UnitFrames UID:5248
    Enchanced Tooltip UID:4888
    Auctioneer Advanced UID:7879

    Will submit verbose and std error logs by request.

    Hi,

    Did you have problems with all of these at the same time, and have they persisted to have problems? If you could post your verbose error log, that would be great.

    Windows is reporting back "Access denied" when attempting to install the updates. What version of Windows are you on, and do you have administrative access to that computer? Also, where is WoW installed?

    I have windows XP with SP2, I have full admin privileges, and WoW path is C:\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns now I can manually install add-ons, and I do not have file securities turned on so when the UI Manager is ran it should be ran with the same permissions.

    I get the same. I'm running Vista SP1. I run as administrator.
    Only thing I can suggest: Disable antivirus while installing.

    Tried disabling antivirus. Didn't work.
    The way I deal with it is: Keep trying, if you repeatedly retry the install it eventually works... no idea why, though

    Auctioneer 7879 and Gatherer 4100 both include !Swatter and Slidebar addons in the zip file I was getting this error when I had Gatherer installed without auctioneer. When I tried to install auctioneer Unspecified I/O Error. Deleted !Swatter and Slidebar from addons folder and Auctioneer installed without any hickups.
