Over the last few months I've used many different map-related addons before finally settling with my favorite, Cartographer. But I noticed Cartographer lacks a couple features of somme of the other good addons, so I've decided to request the features.
The first thing is the BattleMap that AlphaMap uses. Is can be seen in [this image]. It displays a small, useful battlemap with raid icons..
The second is a POI list. In MetaMap, not only did notes appear on the main map, but you could bring up a list of all the notes on the current map, and clicking a link in the list would show you the area of the note on the map. This is especially good for people with many mining/herbalism notes on a map, or for people that like to flood city maps with every NPC they come in contact with (like me!).
The last feature is one I've already requested, but I thought I'd mention it again. It's flight maps. Basically, have Cartographer draw lines extending outward from zones when you mouse-over the zone to see where you can fly from there, and also have a checkbox or button near the top to toggle "flightmap mode," where it would display lines for every flight path and boat/zeppelin path on the map. Flight timers would be nice as well, but there are some good Ace2 alternatives that do this already.
If Cartographer included these three features, I'm sure it would be considered the ultimate map mod, even moreso than currently. These are three very helpful features that I'm sure a lot of Cartographer users miss from their old addons. |
