More Transparency Options

Status: Flagged for Future Version
Hello, before I request anything, I must say that this is the best and only nameplate add on that makes name plates usable at all.
A great problem with name plates is that, once having a lot of units, they randomly stack on each other, making you lose the overview about them.
That is what makes Aloft so awesome, I was able to set the transparency to 0 to those that is not my current target, because the nameplate that target is all I need during the combat. Recently I discovered the model in Aloft, which highlights those friendly units that have aggro.
And here is my request: Wouldn't it be nice to be able to display only those nameplates who have the aggro instead? (Transparency 0 for any rest of them)
That way, highlighting is no longer needed, you just see the nameplate instead of not seeing it, which makes it clearer. Again, having a large group of people means a great clustering of nameplates on each other, which does not help.
Thank you for your time.

sorry for the delay in responding.

yeah, this should be feasible. i will add this to the TODO list.

however, i must warn you: "hiding" individual nameplates, via whatever mechanism (actually calling Hide() on them, or setting their alpha (or transparency) to 0/zero, would not affect nameplate packing or tiling or clustering... the nameplates would still be there, affecting how other nameplates clustered, they would just not be visible. this could result in nameplates for units appearing quite a distance away from their associated character models on screen, and other such artifacts (which i am sure you have already noticed).

i don't know if this would affect mouse click-through behavior, either.

but anyway, flagging which nameplates would normally be showing a "tanking securely" glow and changing their alpha instead should also be possible. and adding an "aggro" setting to the Aloft "Alpha" options should also be possible.
