Secondary splash "stacking"

One problem I have with the splash and secondary splash areas, is that when multiple abilities are coming off cooldown in the same few seconds, it's difficult to analyze what's happening in the secondary splash area. What I propose is for a feature to allow the ability icons to stack, in a predefined direction, and linger for a moment. Rather than 3 icons coming and going in the exact same location, all the while overlapping, we could clearly see which abilities have come off cooldown, while still directing our attention to a relatively limited space in the interface. One could limit the amount of icons allowed to stack, to say 3. I dont know how many cooldowns other users are monitoring, but I think having 3 abilities coming off cooldown in a matter of 2 seconds seems like a reasonable time frame to still be able to process the information being presented.

I've had that issue myself. I probably would have suggested it eventually. Perhaps defining more then one position could be a solution for this.

Here's how I would do it. I would start with one in the center. When a second ability pops, push the first one off... say to the left so that it's right side is now no more then a few pixels away from the center line. Create the second icon on the right side, at the same distance off the center. When a third one comes up, create it atop the 2 other icons so that you now have a triangle. Anything else overwrites currently displayed icons.

Another way to do it would be to have a master icon which is always the last one which has popped up. Everything else is displayed in a line under the master icon until it fades, but at a smaller size.
