Sometimes you just feel so stupid. This is one of the times for me. When I first developed ChatColors, I tried to find a way to figure out what colors the channels already had, so I could just save that. I didn't manage to find a way and I still haven't, but I just found the event UPDATE_CHAT_COLOR that could help a lot.

My guess is that version 1.0 will contain the possibility to change color in the Blizzard UI and save it. I still find it useful to be able to save colors in the settings, so I don't have to set everything up for each character. That means I won't cut down ChatColors to nothing and just save the color on the event, but rather keep it as it is, even if it's perhaps does a bit more than needed.

I released version 0.5.1 of ChatColors yesterday. It only contains minor fixes from 0.5, so there's no urgent need to upgrade. It seems I missed to update the version number in the code when I released 0.5, so I thought it might be wise to get it fixed now that I uploaded ChatColors here to WoWInterface.

Feel free to add any feature requests or bug reports, they are much appriciated. However, requests about a graphical interface will get quite low priority, unless someone volounteers to the work for me.

    What's up in the future?
Next version will most likely contain more color aliases and the possibility to add your own. These colors will in that case be saved globally. Something I'm also considering is changing to managing settings per character instead having them global, as it is now. Though I feel that I really want the option to be able to copy settings between characters, so I might need to do that in ChatColors, instead of just using Blizzard's per-character settings.
