Due to the changes to the event system, ArenaAnnouncer did not work at all on the beta realm. Thanks to the great WoWI community that already compiled some of the most prevalent problems with the LUA changes, getting the addon to work again in 4.0 was a piece of cake.

I will probably not only update the spell database with all the new fancy cataclysm abilities, but also add additional features. First, there will be a migration from the current database style that is localization-specific to a spellid-database. Thus, everyone will be able to use the addon, not only English and German users.

Finally, a more elaborate profile-system is in the works that will allow saving and loading profiles and should also provide an interface that eliminates the need for the few remaining slashcommands. This however is a more severe change and will probably not be ready for cata release if the rumors of a November-release turn out to be true.

So far, Arena Announcer 1.0.6 seems to work flawlessly in WotLK.

I guess I'll be adding the new spells to the database and do a seperated release for the beta so that people might test it on the beta servers.
1.0.5 was planned to be just be a small patch. I decided to make it beta because the poeple who usually act as my beta testers were unavailable and I wanted to get out a fix for what I considered a major problem: cooldowns did not reset on arena entry.

I thought I fixed it in 1.0.5a that I uploaded. But I didn't. The problem actually was a small one, but while testing certain things to fix it, I found new bugs. You know how it is. ;-)

Anyway, I hope I fixed every major quirks now... Actually, I did not encounter any of these bugs in a whole week of arena play on three different chars, so they might not be that terrible.

The side effect is, that I reworked many functions to be more efficient. Especially if you hide one of the modules they should not waste computation time anymore.

An additional change that was the last thing I myself found lacking in the addon interface options: Finally you can decide if you want to see icons and ability names in both frames (seperately, of course).

I'm pretty excited if there will be any feedback to the new version. Many people download the addon, but few comment and noone submitted a bug report so far. But well, I got some pretty nice feature requests already, some of which I already implemented.

So, if you read this and test my addon, feel free to drop me a line.

Welcome to Nefrirr's new author portal. This is where you can find my news, report bugs, submit feature requests, read the faq and more. Thanks for stopping by!

My third release of Arena Announcer went live today here on WoWInterface and finally it's polished enough that I actually like it myself. There's still quite a bit of possible improvements, but at least it's usable without major quirks or annoiances.

Just take a look at it and tell me how you like it. :-)
