DropCount (1.42)

Drop-Count for LootCount in short
It will maintain a database over drop-rates (how often and from what mob) for items dropped by mobs - viewable on-screen at mouseover. Also records vendors, books, quest-givers, and best drop-area.

Visit us at github: github

WoW 5.2: "Heavy" database clean-up. Sorry for the CPU load when you first log in. It will be going on for some minutes.

Pandaria: If you hacked your DropCount code to make it "work" (not crash) for Pandaria, please do not send your data. If you're lucky, DropCount v1.40 will fix your database.

Database
Please send your collected data to "dropcount@ybeweb.com". Doing so will help you to participate in the data that others collect. The collected data can be found in the "<WoW>/WTF/Account/<accountname>/SavedVariables" directory. The filename is "LootCount_DropCount.lua". This file does not contain any information about your servers and/or character names or any other personal information.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Changes since previous version
Updated database
Several code changes
Fix for AoE-loot bug
Many changes for database integrity
Database format change due to AoE-loot
Other additions

Functionality
DropCount is an addon initially made for my own purpose, as I wanted some method of knowning where to go for materials needed for my professions. Later it has grown in functionality. Today it contains quite a few other functions too.
DropCount can tell you:
o what items a mob drops, and how often
o what mobs drop a specific item, and how often
o which vendors sell a specific item
o where there are quests you have not done
o where there are books you have not read
o where to go for grinding (still needs more data from you users on this)

The collected information can be viewed in several ways:
Item-drops
1: When you mouse-over a mob, you can hold down <alt> to display a list of items the mob may drop.
2: When you mouse-over an item, you can press <alt> to display the mobs that drops this item.

Vendors
1: When you mouse-over a vendor you can hold down <alt> to display a list of items the vendor sells
2: When you mouse-over an item, you can press <ctrl> to display the vendors that sells this item.
3: You can mouse-over a vendor-icon on the minimap or worldmap to display a list of items the vendor sells
4: Type "/lcdc item" plus the item you want to check. You can enter full links, numeric item-IDs, or the item name.

Books
1: You can mouse-over a book-icon on the minimap or worldmap to display its name
2: Type "/lcdc book" plus the title of the book. If the book is known, a list of location(s) will be displayed.
3: Type "/lcdc book zone" to display a list of all the known books in your current zone.

Best drop-area
1: Mouse-over an item in your bags

Search
See above at "vendors" number 4, and "books" number 2 and 3.

Colour coding
In the list of mobs that drops the item, the mobs are colour-coded from red to green. A red mob-name is a mob that you have not killed many of, and the reported drop-rate may be inaccurate. The more mobs you kill, the greener the name gets - and the reported drop-rate will be a lot more accurate.

The data
The data supplied with DropCount comes from users of DropCount who has shared their data by sending it to "dropcount@ybeweb.com". Please support the developement of this addon and send you data. If you really want to help, send your data once a month or so. It will help keep the data at a peak level.

Sharing data
If you are in a guild, DropCount will connect to the guild data-channel and immediately start adding kills and loot from other guildes to your database. No more set-up required.

Special items
Normal items are counted on a per-kill basis.
Profession-drops are counted on a per-prof-loot basis.
Quest-items are not counted, as they will require you to be on a quest for it to drop. These items will however show up as "Quest" in stead of a percentage.

ItemAge (0.14)

Records how long you have had an item and displays it in your bags/bank and/or tooltip. Stacks of equal items will have separate ages. Notes for items can be attached to tooltip. Counts how many times an item has been on auction.

New in ItemAge v0.14
WoW4

The addon
I made this addon because my bankers are always loaded with items and I loose track of how long I have had the different things in my bags. ItemAge will keep track of items' ages for you. It tracks individual items/stacks, so two equal items or stacks may (and will) have different ages.
The age can be displayed directly on the item in your bags, and/or in the item's tooltip.

Auction
ItemAge will also track how many times you have put an item up for auction. This is displayed in the tooltip alongside the item's age.

Notes
You can attach your own notes to items. Even separate notes for equal items. Personally, I use this facility remember how much I payed for an item and sometimes where I got it from. A nice feature if you for example buy stuff from the auction-house just for resale.

To use notes, you must set up a hot-key in WoW's "Key Bindings" from the game's option-menu. Find the section for ItemAge near the bottom, and set a key for notes. When this has been done, you can press this key whenever you mouse-over an item to open a dialog-box where you can enter text. The entered text can be as long as you like.

Supported items
Most items in WoW is trackable. However, items you have bought from a vendor will basically never be trackable. This is due to how WoW generates the items. A vendor-bought item will be generic and undistinguishable from another vendor-bought item.
There are also some add-ons out there that will change all the in-game item-links to such a degree that it removes the Blizzard-supplied trace-data. If this is the case, it will make most (if not all) items untrackable.

Options
The options are available with the command "/age". These are:
bags -> Bag-display on/off
bank -> Bank-display on/off
gbank -> Guild-bank on/off
tooltip - Display in tooltip on/off
Note that guild-bank does usually not show anyway because of WoW's handling of these items. Some items does however display.

ItemAge can also be assigned a key so you can press a key to show/hide the display whenever you want to check the ages. This is very handy for non-banker toons, and can be assigned from WoW's standard key-binding interface.

Stacks of items
Many items are stackable, like leather and cloth. If you already have a stack that is not full and you receive one more item, WoW will merge the new item into your old stack. The "new" stack will be registered with the age of the old stack.
This is particularly important to notice when retrieving unsold items from the AH and you already have a half-full stack in your bags of the same item.

The mouse-over tooltip will also display what other items you have for the same quest, and how many you have/need.

QuestItems
QuestItems is designed to be small, and provide the single functionality of automatically keeping track of quest hand-ins.

Usage
When you log in, one of the icons will have an extra frame around it.
* Right-click the edge of it to display the menu.
* Left-click and drag the corner to move the interface.

Options
The following options are available from the menu:
* Lock: Lock interface so it can't be moved
* Fade frame: Removes the control-frame.
