I'm having a very odd issue that is only affecting certain characters. I can't make any macros in /ion edit mode to their bars. All the bars are exactly the same as my other characters, but when I try to add a macro to a certain button, the changes don't work and all the buttons remain blank. The macro is actually there when I go to edit the button, it just doesn't do anything and its like an old configuration of my buttons is stuck there instead.

I can drag buttons to the bar from my spellbook, but that does me no good honestly since the main reason I've always loved Trinity/Macaroon/Hydro/Ion is the expanded macro editing in the buttons.

I recently transferred to a new server and almost all of my characters made the transition fine, but I have 2 that are having this issue. Anyone know of a fix?

It sounds like you're trying to change a macro on a bar that doesn't have dual spec enabled. Try switching to your other spec and then editing the macro.

hi, i really love ion as a great addon, i would really like to use it on older versions of the game (like 3.3.5 or 4.3.4) but everything about macaroon ( that was the old addon ) disappeared, i dunno what to do because ion is very usefull and customizable, thanks for the help

XD i play on official too, i want to use the addon on previous expansions because i have lot of friends on shards

Maul, please dont let Ion die. It is by far the best actionbar mod. Id love to be able to configure, save and load profiles for each spec.

Anyone heard any news from Maul?I was hopeing when he said on twitter that he is going do some work on Ion we would get profiles and fix for Ion.But now not sure since he has been offline from !4th March.

Using the game option to not drag accidentally in fights a button, nothing happen, why Ion block this feature...
Ion dont have a option for that? im losing many fights my buttons accidentally removing them.

There are a couple different ways to access Ion's bar locking options, but they do work and have several ways to setup a hot-key to unlock them if needed. The stock bar locking feature from the default action bars do not seem to affect Ion's behaviour.

In my opinion, the easiest way to access the feature is left-clicking the Ion Button on the mini-map, getting you into "bar edit mode". Then right-click on the bar you want to set up, a menu should appear. From that menu, click on the "Lock Actions" button, and enable any hot-key options there.

Try that way first, and if you have troubles there, we can likely guide you through other methods.

To get the Config window you need to :eek:

1. /ion config
2. rightclick on any ion frame (extar button or actionbar)

should cause the menu to appear properly :banana:

As far as the bag bar goes, there is a separate module for that in the "Other Files" section, just make sure it is installed and enabled. If you have further troubles after verifying this, I can do my best to help.

I may be a bit partial to Ion, but even with a few minor bugs this is far and away the best action bar addon out there with the features it has.

thx for the response. I had most of the other files but somehow missed bag bar, haha. The problem with the menu you answered and i did know how to edit bars just wanted to see settings on main menu but ill wait.
Any chance you know about the macaroon importer? How to use it or does it load my previous bar settings and key bindings?
finally, I love Ion as well simply for the fact Maul is behind it. I started back with Trinity Bars, moved to Macaroon, now to Ion. If Maul is helping, then let the man take his time and give us something amazing like always. Props.

So ive downloaded and tried version 3, 4 and 5 and all are giving me the same issue. I loved macaroon and am sad to see it gone, as it worked very well. Back to the point.

Everytime I start wow I am able to see Ions new button bars. I shift click on the minimap symbol, or type /ion menu and the in game menu that pops up is a blank black box. How do i get the menu to show up? Secondly, my bag bar is completely gone and im not sure how to bring it back on the screen. I have all the Ion addons for menu bar, pet, status and mmg. Please help.

Maul Luv your work. been around since trinity and never looked back.

on the new lfr boss Ji-kun i dont see the extrabutton, i think because Ion, right? u guys can see?

this addon is copyright? cant a expert take it and make these little improvents, to add profiles and fix the new buttons? u guys heard about this word, help? THANKS

anyway i heard Maul ill upgrade it, right? but if not, please tell us if this addon is stoped or not, so we move to other addons, because is a pain for 1 year now. I know the other stupid bars addons and dont like them, thanks for this.

We try to make your life easy but i guess if you want to make it more complicated its up to you. Key binds IMO should be setup so its most comfortable to use your buttons on your keyboard so that should not be dependent on your char,spec or even game just your hands position on keyboard and whats easiest way to press buttons on it for you.
Extra button on Ji-kun work just fine for me and i believe it was fixed long time ago by Ion authors.
I probably play more char and specs then you and ofc profiles is something i miss a lot as well ,but even for that i think there was some post that told you how to change it so Ion settings are per char but at that time Maul wanted to go with his own solution or something,but didnt manage to implement it yet.

But the person who helped this little menu update or other specialist cant add the profilles to this addon, is so hard to add most important thing? this addon, in my opinion, dont need any update (just few fixes - i noticed shaman elementals bars are bugged), just the profiles, for months every day each char each respec we need to change keybinds, is a pain... ThanksOut of curiosity, why are you changing your keybinds so often? I understand switching characters, and maybe a big of changing around on a spec change, but why?

Personally I set up the bars and keybindings the same for each character. I honestly don't understand why you would need to change your keybindings between each character.

sorry lol? each char or even spec have different bars... cant put same keybinds on all chars and spec oblioviously
lol no wonder you have so much problems if you need to come up with with new keybinds for each and every new spec you play
tbh keybinds should be about what buttons you are most comfortable to press on your keyboard and easiest-just customize your specs(position of your spells to keybinds) to keybinds not your keybinds to your specs
