Setting up two bars for it is a pain, and I opened Ticket 39 for it some time ago. I even tried something similar to what you suggested, but it turned out not to work well in practice: I couldn't easily tell by looking at the bar whether it was was filling or draining. They needed to look very different. When I build it myself using two bars, the buff portion is very bright and the cooldown very dark, and I can tell that way. But I don't want to just assume that near-black is the right answer for the cooldown portion... Nowadays, I have a big bar for the cooldown and a little bar next to it for the active buff.

It's definitely a common thing to track both, and it would be nice if it were a bit easier to set up, especially putting the two bars in the same place.

I really love this addon and use it quite a lot as a cat. I have got an idea for another feature: It would be useful if one bar was able to work as a cooldown and a buff tracker at the same time. For example my berserk-ability has a 3min CD and works for 15sec. I think it would be great if the bar would slowly decrease while the spell is on CD (that's how i use NTK now) and when I activate berserk the bar could increase (and maybe change colour during the activation time). This way one bar could show me the CD time as well as the activation time. :)

As for the font outline, would it be possible to add more variation in the thickness of the outline? NTK is just passing a flag to the Blizzard API to add the outline, and the two options you see are all the API takes (as far as I know.) I'd suggest trying different fonts and font sizes to see if one of them has the right look. Looks like you're using a font with a dropshadow for your combat text; maybe try using that font for NTK?

Glad you like NTK!

First off, thank you for keeping this add-on up to date. I've been using it for a while and I just found out last week about being able to show icons. I love it.

As for the font outline, would it be possible to add more variation in the thickness of the outline? The normal font outline option is too thick in my opinion so it would be nice to have something thinner. Or is it just that the text on my bars are too small for it to look right with normal outline? Anyway, it's an excellent add-on and I appreciate the work and time you put into this.

How I use your add-on (perfect for my taste)

Can Pandemic support for Warlocks can be added as a feature? It may be beyond the scope of this addon, but I feel it's worth asking. Trying to think how to make this generically useful. Like, if it was a % of the duration, then it would cover the "last tick" length for many cases, but not for when haste adds an extra tick. hmm

The only addon I know of that has good Pandemic support is AffDots (http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/affdots). As far as making it a generically useful tool, I'm not sure it can be.

Can Pandemic support for Warlocks can be added as a feature? It may be beyond the scope of this addon, but I feel it's worth asking.

Essentially, Pandemic allows Warlocks to re-apply DOTs and retain up to 50% of the debuff duration if you re-cast the same spell while the old one is active. I'm currently using the visual cast time feature to emulate the Pandemic "safe zone", essentially where you can cast a DOT and lose no damage, but because DOT durations change with haste, this becomes inaccurate during haste buffs.

I'm not sure what kind of information the game provides to you in this respect, but if it can be done it would be much appreciated. If you could grab the tooltip debuff duration in the same way you grab "Choose cast time by spell...", then "set additional time" to half of that value when the debuff is applied, it would work perfectly.

Is there an option to create outlines for the font? I really want it to blend in with Quse DBM skin, which has outlines on the font. I'm not likely to add this officially any time soon, but for now you can edit your local copy of NeedToKnow.lua as follows

if ( fontPath ) then
bar.text:SetFont(fontPath, NeedToKnow.ProfileSettings)
bar.time:SetFont(fontPath, NeedToKnow.ProfileSettings)
end

Change that to

if ( fontPath ) then
bar.text:SetFont(fontPath, NeedToKnow.ProfileSettings,"OUTLINE")
bar.time:SetFont(fontPath, NeedToKnow.ProfileSettings,"OUTLINE")
end

You can use THICKOUTLINE for an even heavier outline.

5.1 UnitAura returns are as follows.
local name, rank, icon, count, debuffType, duration, expirationTime, unitCaster, canStealOrPurge, shouldConsolidate, spellId, canApplyAura, isBossDebuff, isCastByPlayer, ... = UnitAura()
isCastByPlayer was slotted in after isBossDebuff so that they can have a variable number of arguments at the end.

It used to be you had val1,val2,val3 after isBossDebuff (positions #14,#15,#16) and isCastByPlayer at #17.

In 5.1 isCastByPlayer was moved after isBossDebuff at position #14 and there's a variable number of arguments from position #15 and onwards, val1,val2,val3,val4 have been observed sofar (hunter traps) but it makes sense that they moved it to the tail so they can add more as needed.

Hope it helps.

Hey, sorry if you are already aware of this issue, but I have a problem with blinking settings for totems (specifically Searing Totem, but I have tested with others such as Healing Stream and they all have this issue)

Blink Settings:

Enable for this bar: Checked

Blink out of combat: Unchecked
Blink only for bosses: Unchecked

Steps to reproduce:

Engage combat with target dummy with no Searing Totem cast
Blinking bar does NOT appear
Cast Searing Totem
Cast Totemic Recall
Blinking bar appears
Drop combat
Blinking bar DOES NOT disppear, and persists continually while out of combat, flying, rested, etc...

Other (related?) steps:

Engage combat with dummy with no totem cast
Cast totem (totem not engaged in combat w/ dummy)
Drop combat
Cast Totemic Recall
Blinking bar disappears correctly while out of combat/flying/rested

Additionally, if "Blink only for bosses" is checked, the blinking bar behaves correctly in terms of showing up when combat starts and the totem is not present, as well as not persisting after combat has dropped. However, I really would like functionality for non bosses as well as a reminder to cast totems.

If this information helps any I have noticed this behavior since the start of MoP. However I do not recall it during Cataclysm.

Thanks you in advance and I hope this report was adequate.
