Re: Event Trigger for Ascendance (MikScrollingBattleText)

Hi - So I was making some triggers for Player Cooldown Complete for my shaman. I'm basically just playing a sound when the talent comes off CD. I got to ascendance and ran into an issue and I think its because of the way it works. With other talents I've been making triggers for, the CD timer starts right when you use the talent. However, with ascendance - the CD timer does not start until ascendance has worn off so I get the alert that its ready right after I use it.

Would there be a way to get around this by using different trigger Events instead of just Player Cooldown complete?

Thanks

I just wanted to confirm, this is in fact a bug, or something is fishy here. It says the Ascendance cooldown is ready when you use Ascendance, instead of when the cooldown is up i.e. the spell is ready to be cast again.

Would love to see this fixed! Great addon.

Hi! I really love the addon but the only problem I have that when I gain EXP from monsters, gathering, quests or anything, the addon displays the EXP gained (which I like) but so does the WoW Interface (you know, big purple numbers on my chracter), so I was wondering is there a way to disable WoW's EXP Display and Only use the addon to display gained EXP notification?

No Blizzard does not have any accessible code functions to do this.

Zutsori:

I don't really remember exactly which site I got the original sound effect, but it was a site that offered royalty free sound effects (probably freesound.org). I then modified it slightly to improve volume level and tonality.

Draigars:

The only way to modify the merge trailer would be in the code itself (MSBTMain.lua around line 699).

Change the following lines from:

if (mergedEvent.numCrits > 0) then
critTrailer = string_format(", %d %s", mergedEvent.numCrits, mergedEvent.numCrits == 1 and L.MSG_CRIT or L.MSG_CRITS)
end

-- Set the event's merge trailer field.
mergedEvent.mergeTrailer = string_format(" ", mergedEvent.numMerged + 1, L.MSG_HITS, critTrailer)

To:

if (mergedEvent.numCrits > 0) then
critTrailer = string_format(", %d", mergedEvent.numCrits)
end

-- Set the event's merge trailer field.
mergedEvent.mergeTrailer = string_format(" ", mergedEvent.numMerged + 1, critTrailer)

For your second question, there is not a way to change shorten numbers behavior per scroll area.

Squishery:

As the error message indicates, MSBTOptions is disabled. Look at the Addons button on your character select screen and notice it's unchecked in there.

Just installed this add-on and find it helpful so far. However, I would like to change some settings and use a thinner font. The problem is that when I try to load "MSBT", I get the message "Could not load MSBT" " MSBT had been disabled".
Im assuming that MSBT is the configutation/settings? (Add on Control Panel tells me MSBT's an optional load)

Other than that semi-major issue, everything seems to function fine.

Thanks for a great add-on. Cant wait to get the settings sorted out. :banana:
