Two new mods this week. (Actually, Nameplates Modifier was an old mod, but it's being rewritten and re-released.) And since they're both lazy on the screenshots (tsk tsk!) you get to meet my banker, Banchiere. :) (I give permission to the authors to use these screenshots on their download pages if they don't get a chance to make ones of their own.)

Auctionator:

Auctionator is an addon to make your time at the auction house faster and easier. It adds a new "Auctionator" tab to the auction house which functions like the "Auctions" tab. Except that when you put an item in the window, it automatically scans the auction house for that item and gathers price information for you. It then recommends what price you should sell it for.

For more information about this new addon, see the Auctionator download page.

As mentioned above, this is a re-release/rewrite of an old addon. If you are familiar with the old version, then note that not all features have been reimplemented yet. Nameplate Modifier does just what it says - it modifies the default Blizzard nameplates. I happen to not particularly like the look of the Blizzard nameplates. But with this addon, you can change the bar texture, font, whether text is outlined or not, etc. It also taps into SharedMedia if you have that installed.

See the download page for more information.

I would also like to note that an addon called FixBlizzCastBar was uploaded to the site this week. As some of you may have noticed, there is a bug in the game currently where the cast bar will disappear if Lightning Shield or similar procs. This addon should take care of that for you, if you have experienced the issue.

lolCritCount is more of a "for fun" addon than a "functional" one. All it does is keep track of how many crits you have in a row, and then shows the total damage of that string of crits on your screen. This could be a very entertaining addon if you have a high crit rate. ;)

Engravings hadn't seen an update in over 2 years. Until the other day, that is. This mod allows you to place user-created notes in an item's tooltip. Make note of what mob an item drops off of, what quest an item is for, or add your own flavor text to your new, big axe! With it's new update, it now comes with some default notes on boss drops, PVP gear, and Badge loot. If you wish to not view those default notes, you may delete those lua files from the addon's folder. More default notes and some options will be coming in a future update.

Sure, we've seen alarm clock addons before, but BreakTime allows you to set messages to display for your alarms, too. I know that I'm not the only person in the world that hits the snooze button in the morning - an alarm goes off and you instantly wish to silence it. But what if your alarm also told you that it was time to go watch your favorite tv show? Or that it was time to go pick up your son from practice?

To read more about BreakTime, see the download page.

Hate switching between profession windows? TradeTabs makes it easier. As you can see in the screenshot, it adds tabs to the side of your crafting frame that let you switch between any professions you have. This also includes Poisons for Rogues and Beast Training for Hunters. Now you can smelt your ore and craft those necklaces virtually from the same window.

This week I have two updated mods for you. Both were actually new to the site last week, but got pushed aside... Due to their authors' updates though, they were put into the pool again for this week. :)

NinjaPoints is a combo point tracker for you rogues and druids out there. It will display combo point numbers on your screen or you can define what text is shown for each point, such as "Tres" in the above screenshot. Another example given by its author is that you could spell out words for each point (1 point would show a K, 2 = KI, 3 = KIL, 4 = KILL, and 5 would show KILL!) Fonts are customizable and you can even use your own custom sound file for combo points.

For more info, the download page is here.

BindingsReminder adds the image of a QWERTY style keyboard below your keybindings window. Red highlighted keys are those that you have an action bound to already. Hovering over a button (such as the 2 in the screenshot above) shows what is bound to that key, including bindings that involve modifiers such as Control or Shift. This is a great tool for those like me who forget what is bound to what, or for those who want to see what keys they have available still.
You can read more and download it here.

New to WoWInterface this week is Fisherman's Friend, an addon by Ammo that aims to make your life easier while fishing. Upon equipping your fishing pole, the mod will tweak your sound settings so that you can hear the splash better when you catch a fish. When you un-equip your fishing pole, sounds are returned to the original settings. It will also use lures and equip +fishing items for you when casting. You can also set it so that you can double-right-click to cast your line, and change to Auto-Loot for fishing (will change it back when you're finished).

Gem Quota has been on the site for a little while, but saw an update this week to update it for 2.4. What it does is add another entry into the pull-down menus on the character pane for your gem stats. It will tell you what you need for your Meta gem and whether or not it's currently active. It will also sum up total stats for each color gem you have equipped.

Panda (Prospecting and Disenchanting Aide) is a mod to help you auto-loot when disenchanting and prospecting. Sure, you could just enable Auto Loot in your Interface Options, but most people (myself included) prefer to leave that option off. But using the auto-loot modifier key (shift, for example) only works for the first DE or Prospect. So, visions of pandas started dancing around in tekkub's brain.

Since then, a couple of other features have taken form in the mod. It also helps auto-loot when cutting gems and will gather price information from AuctioneerAdvanced for gems, dusts, and other mats.

Because of the patch this week, there were 379 different uploads (that's including UI compilations) - not to mention that some of those were updated multiple times this week! That was a lot to sift through. Here's what caught my attention. When I saw mention of the mod, Toons, in the forums, I just had to download it and see what it was all about. I also picked an updated mod this week (was originally released when the PTRs were up), which makes use of the new 2.4 feature of having icons in chat.

Toons-v2:

This mod keeps track of all of your alts, on all servers, and lets you see their details via the "Toons" tab on the Social pane. Want to see how much gold they have and how much total you have on the server? Forget which alt has herbalism, and which alt has mining? Have an abundance of netherweave, but don't remember how much space is left in your alt's bank? Is your lowbie druid at full rested xp? You can view all of these things and more with Toons.

Read more about Toons and download it here.

ChatIcons:

The new 2.4 patch brings a couple new features that work their way into our chat frames. One of these is the ability to link spells into chat, the other is that icons can be put in text strings (tooltips, raid warnings, and chat).

So, just like how raid symbols show in chat and the combat log now, tardmrr's addon, ChatIcons, inserts class, spell, and ability icons into chat. Instead of using a chat mod to color names by class, you can see their class icon instead (note: only works for party/raid/guild). See the icon for an item when your guild links loot into raid chat.

For more about ChatIcons, see the download page.

IHML has been in testing for about a month over at wowace and was released to our site this week. This mod gives you one macro which automagically changes what it is depending on what zone you're in or which BigWigs boss module is enabled. All you have to do is put the IHML macro (the mod creates this for you and you can find it in your macro window) on one of your action bars.

It comes preloaded with various macros for Vashj, Curator, bombing in Skettis, using the Booterang in Netherwing Ledge, etc. You can also add your own macros using the options menu pictured above.

You can read more about IHML on its wiki page and its download page.

This addon looks both quite promising and interesting. It's a tool for raid leaders to aid in moving people around in groups. Moving people can be done with slash commands (moving someone to a group number, or swapping two people) or automatically by the addon. You can also save a raid setup to restore it later (say you swap a couple people for one fight, then want to restore the raid to the setup it had before) and create templates for boss fights, dungeons, etc. that you can apply.

You can read more and download it here.

FlashFind

There are some people who just love the default bags. Some like the art, some like using the separate bags as a categorizing system, etc. But sometimes you just can't find what you're looking for. That's where this mod can help. Using it's slash-command, you can find anything in your bags (and bank, if you have it open). Say you have 10 stacks of different kinds of dust in your inventory, and you're looking for Dream Dust - but you don't remember what color it is. Typing /find dream dust (or even just /find dream) will automatically open whatever bag that dust is in and flash the icon for you so you see it.
Chinchilla

Finally, there's Chinchilla. While there are TONS of minimap mods around, this one has extra little features that make me love it. For example: minimap buttons (the default ones like Tracking, bg, etc) can be detached from the minimap and moved wherever you want. Different styles of minimap blips (the icons that show on your minimap for party, quests, etc) are included to choose from. There are tons of border options, including a really cute one with Chinchillas (pro-tip from ckknight - switch it to rotating minimap while using the round chinchilla border and turn your character to the right ;) ). You can even create your own blip and border textures.

Find out more about its many features and download it here.

Sorry for the missing Pick last week - I was on vacation. This post covers both weeks, with MobNotes being uploaded to WoWI for the first time on 3/1, and OnScreenHealth having a couple of updates this week.

Sorry for the missing Pick last week - I was on vacation. This post covers both weeks, with MobNotes being uploaded to WoWI for the first time on 3/1, and OnScreenHealth having a couple of updates this week.

MobNotes has been in testing over at wowace since December, and it finally made its way over here as Rabbit pushed release versions of a bunch of his mods.

This addon holds a default database of notes on various instance trash mobs, and allows you to add your own via slash command. These notes are then added to the tooltip of that mob in-game. The default notes contain nothing of strategy, but rather behaviors and abilities. You may add strategy notes of your own manually, if you would like the reminders.

Examples of some of the notes are:

Quote:

 -- Zul'Aman trash
["Amani'shi Guardian"] = "Immune to snares, polymorph, and fear. Dispels sheep from nearby friends."
-- Hex Lord Malacrass adds
["Gazakroth"] = "Spams fireballs, can be banished."
-- Black Temple trash
["Aqueous Lord"] = "Summons 2 Aqueous Spawns."

Check out the download page for MobNotes here.

I never could really stand HUDs... Having those bars in the middle of my screen always made it feel closed-in and cluttered. If you feel the same way, but still want that information at the center of your screen, then check out OnScreenHealth - a text-only HUD.

Formatting, font, colors, alpha, and location are all customizable. SharedMedia and MobHealth are supported, but must be installed separately. The included ReadMe explains the system for formatting your text display. For more information about OnScreenHealth, see it's download page.

I always loved FuXPFu, but lately I've been keeping FuBar off of my screen - either by having it hidden until mouseover, or being stored on my Dash. So, I would have to always show my FuBar/Dash if I wanted to see my xp bar.

Well, Wobin, FuXPFu's author has just released the successor to his popular FuBar addon, and it no longer requires the use of FuBar. The Xparky xp and rep bars can be attached to any side (top, bottom, right, left) of any named frame. It also comes with a "Lego Block" that contains your xp information (percentage, left to go, etc).

The screenshot above is the Xparky xp and reputation bars attached to the Lego Block. If you wish to hide the Lego Block, you will first need to anchor your bars to another frame - or else they will hide with it. If you don't know the name of the frame, or just as a nifty way to make it easy, click the "Hook to Frame" button from the Framelink menu. Your cursor will change to have a blue outline, and you can click on whichever frame you wish to attach the bars to.

For more information about Xparky and to see more screenshots, go to its download page.

Welcome to the first WoWI Pick of the Week! As mentioned in Cairenn's sticky above, each week I, or another staff member, will select a new and/or updated mod on our site to highlight. The picks will be made from mods uploaded the week before (Sunday-Saturday).

This past week's pick is... Dock!

Dock is a new mod that is totally revolutionary. It mimics a dock that you find in Mac OS and programs such as Object Dock and RocketDock, and brings that functionality to your WoW screen. You can keep these docks on-screen or put them into tab mode, where you are left with only a small tab to click whenever you wish to view your dock.

I had been interested in this mod since Kameril, its author, announced a private beta test. Now it is in public beta and available here for people to try out. Note, I said "public beta". This mod still has a few kinks to work out. One report I put in yesterday was that it doesn't handle the minimap very well when it is switched to tab mode. Kameril said that he should get another version out as early as today with that and other bug fixes.

To read more about Dock, please visit its download page. Kameril has several movies on YouTube that highlight Dock's features as well. The links for those may be found on the download page.

We're starting a new feature on the site. Every week our staff will pick one new and/or one updated mod from the previous week on our site and give you a brief subjective overview of the mod. This will give authors a chance to have their mod showcased and users a chance to discover mods that they may not have been aware of previously. Hopefully everyone will enjoy this new feature. :)

Seerah starts this new feature off with a overview of Dock. You can see review of it here.
