In a nutshell, kGo is an addon which lets you cast those spells and use those items which you use often but don't want to give away a keybind or premium action button slots.
With the press of a keybind, a window will pop. This window will have a user-specified number of rows and buttons. Each one having a spell or item set to it. The user can then use WASD (default) to navigate this grid. The currently selected spell is shown by the redish highlighter. Pressing F (default) will cast that spell or use that item and hide the window. Once you memorize the locations of the spells/items and the button combination enter your muscle memory, then this process will be very quick.
This will only work out of combat. If you happen to enter combat while the window is open, it will close and return your keybinds to normal instantly.
Only set the 'Display kGo Window' keybind in your bindings window. The rest of the bindings are used for the temporary bindings which are used when the frame is shown. Ignore them. They are set automatically when the frame is shown and cleared when it is hidden.
This is very much a beta release. I'm just putting it up to get an initial public opinion. Please do not localize this yet. I will get all that sorted in due time. There is a lot more planned.
Planned:
- A much better look. Trust me.
- More configuration.
- Letting you put macros into the buttons.
- Drag and drop functionality. Open window, drop spells/items/macros into the buttons instead of using the configuration window.
- Second module inspired by GnomeGO. This was the original inspiration for this addon but I decided to put it on the backburner in place of this idea.
- I have a feeling I missed something out. I really should write things down.
