A Data Broker plugin that provides 2 blocks: one for guildmates & one for friends. These blocks show informative and interactive clickable tooltips. It's fast and lightweight.
Informations/screenshots are not up-to-date (and it's boring to do ).
It has the following functionalities on entries
- click guildmates or friends to whisp them.
- alt+click guildmates or friends to invite them.
- control+click friends to edit note.
- if you're an officier, you can control+click guildmates to edit their public note, and control+right click to edit officer's note.
- right click guildmates to sort the closest column.
- if you're an officer, you can click the MOTD to edit.
- middle click on friends to remove from friend list.
- control+mousewheel to resize tooltip.
And the following functionalities on blocks
- control+click to toggle hints so you don't have to remember all this crap.
- left click on guild block to toggle guild panel
- right click on guild block to toggle the guild notes column.
- shift+click on guild block to toggle guild name.
- left click on friend block to toggle friend panel.
- shift+right click on blocks to toggle total number of guildmates or friends.
- middle click on friend block to show the "add a friend" dialog box.
It shows
- check marks for grouped guildmates and friends.
- class icon (mainly to provide a column to sort) when not grouped.
- class colored names.
- level colored in grey, green, yellow, orange or red depending of your own level.
- zone colored in green, yellow or red depending of faction.
- public notes (and officer notes for guildmates if you have the rights).
- rank for guildmates.
If you have AddonLoader, the loading of this addon will be delayed.
If you have Skinner, this addon will be automatically skinned.

There's a bug in r69: the guild Broker plugin shows the correct amount of people that are online but when you mouse-over it, it shows different toons than the ones that are actually online.
This behaviour only occurs if "show offline members" is checked in Blizzard's guild menu, otherwise its fine. I'm using the german client (deDE). |

do to blizzards infinite wisdom, 5.4.7 now breaks WIM and other chat mods if you strip the realm name, therefor I'm going to have to remove realm name stripping from broker so it doesn't interfere with chat mods. it seems now whispers must contain the realm even on the same realm (good job blizzard)
they still send if you send a whisper without it, but replies will keep opening new tabs cause they will always include realm name |

Say you are connected realm, and two characters with same name exist in guild. "guild" attaches realm to BOTH of them, even though it's really only needed on remote one. passing none makes sure it only attaches realm to remote name. So "guild" Omegal-Whisperwind Omegal-Dentarg "none" Omegal Omegal-Dentarg and trying to invite omegal-Whisperwind to group would player not found because invite api doesn't want realmname unless it's a remote realmname. I did a lot of testing with the ambigute function with another chat mod author and we tested the caveats of passing each arg until we concluded that "none" is best usage. |

Neither Wowprogramming nor Wowpedia have documentation up for that function, but...
https://github.com/tekkub/wow-ui-sou...ch?q=ambiguate From that, it looks like it accepts, at least: "all", "guild" and "none". In AutoComplete.lua, they're using "all" and "none" but also passing it, in some cases, the value of the "autoCompleteContext" key on the EditBox for which the auto-complete is being performed. The only place I can see that being set in FrameXML is in MailFrame.xml on line 630 where it is set to "mail". So, maybe that's a possibility, too. Not that that's relevant here, but I did find it interesting. |

Ambiguate(name, "none") THIS returns correct value. The results of our testing showed using "guild" caused breakage. Mainly, "guild" makes it fail in the case of having two chars with same name in roster. Where Ambiguate will ALWAYS return realm name for your own realm using "guild" because it THINKS this is useful in showing you it's not the player with that name from other realm (however this still breaks invite/whispers etc. This is why you pass off "none" to tell it to strip realm name from local same name toon to ensure invite/whispers work (which people count in from guild broker).

Why you don't use blizzard method for realm?
name = Ambiguate(name, "guild") |

@MysticalOS
I'd imagine it was done to be consistent with similar API returns such as GetRaidRosterInfo. If you wish to interact with cross-realm players, you have to specify their fully qualified name. However, virtual realms may somehow be an exception to this—I'm not sure as I haven't been playing on one. |

It never occurred to me blizz would screw up and return mismatching realm names. Why would they strip spaces and spec char out of realmname in GuildRosterInfo() is beyond me.

I, too, are having issues with realm name being shown in ARA, and since I play on EU-Azjol-Nerub (shown as "AzjolNerub" in ARA).
I also tried Talyrius' fix but it did nothing for me. Any ideas? |
