DevlinUI  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 5-r2
by: Devlin [More]

*** BE SURE TO FOLLOW THE INSTALLATION NOTES BELOW ***

DevlinUI is now updated to 4.2!

The UI in action - 25 man raid
http://youtu.be/DaxHrV0lFZw?hd=1

NOTE: This UI is designed to work based on my own preferences and conditions first and foremost, which means

Resolution: 1920x1080
Situation: PvE (10/25-man Raid)
Role: Rogue/DPS
Using this package under different conditions may or may not result in a horrible looking UI and/or require additional configuration.

NOTE: If you are not using this UI for a Rogue, you should active ClassTimer and deactive ChronoBars in the Addon listing at the character screen. I have not set up ChronoBars for any class other than Rogue. You can easily set up ChronoBars by yourself if you know what to do though.

I will not include any addons that I do not use myself. Requests of this sort will be discarded.

Issues
  • Updating PhanxBuffs manually will most likely result in a different look than the one included in this package.
  • As this UI is setup for rogues in particular, there may be some power (holy power, runes etc) and/or pet issues for the other classes.
  • If you come across an error or issue please let me know by posting in the addon comments.

Installation notes
  1. Backup (really; Backup! Backup! Backup! Backup!) your existing WTF and Interface folders in your WoW directory, then remove them.
  2. Unzip/unrar DevlinUI5-r2.rar and place the containing Fonts, Interface and WTF folders directly in your WoW directory so it looks like this.
    \World of Warcraft\Interface
    \World of Warcraft\WTF
    \World of Warcraft\Fonts
    *** Remember to do the following steps for EACH account/character you want to have this addon-pack installed for ***
  3. Open the WTF -> Account folders, and rename the "Account name" folder to your own account's name.
    (example: Devlin)
  4. Open the "Account name" folder you just renamed, and rename the "Server name" folder inside to correspond to your server's name.
    (example: Outland)
  5. Open the "Server name" folder you just renamed, and rename the "Character name" folder inside to correspond to your character's name.
    (example: Devlin)
  6. Launch the game.
  7. When in the game, it will look like a total mess. Don't worry, it's fixed with one simple command!
  8. Type:
    /reflux switch DevlinUI
    *** Please note that this is CaSe-sEnSiTiVe! ***
  9. Enjoy the game!

On a Mac, you need a program that extracts RAR files like Stuffit Expander or RAR Expander.

Just a couple things ya might think about when ya will work on some kinds of updates - scalin' doesn't work at all - when I go from fullscreen to windowed mode, whole UI is messed up. And is there any way how to turn off/remove those black graphic squares? For example I like bigger chat window or even use default raid frames instead of grid, but with those black squares around everythin' (even tho they are pretty as hell), it is very hard to get good lookin' UI.
But good work overall, so far I'm usin' this ui for about 2 weeks and with (sadly) lot of personal adjustments I like it so far.

Hey again gang!

Seems like the UI is fairly functional now, I forgot to properly setup things I don't personally use that often, such as pet bars. It will be fixed in an upcoming change, but in the meantime you can simply go into Bartender settings (/bar) and position the pet bar as you want it.

To answer your questions:

I'm assuming the font(s) you have problem with does not support the Russian alphabet (Cyrillic?). You can try to replace the fonts in the Font folder located at

\World of Warcraft\Fonts\

to some of your liking. Please remember to rename the fonts just as they are named currently in the folder. Also remember that replacing fonts could make this UI look bad

Sad to hear about this problem, but it is not something I can fix at the moment, at least not without further information.

Hey man great ui really like it! on my warrior it works great, but not so good on my hunter or lock. My pet health bar is hidden behind my pet abilities I tried to move it in /kgpanels config but no joy. Im running this on a 1920x1080 and have managed to move everything else to my liking. Keep up the good work mate! Oh and also my aspects are hidden to cant find them anywhere.
As mentioned above, the positioning of pet bars and such will be fixed in an upcoming release. However you can easily do it to your own liking by simply going into Bartender options (/bar) and unclock and modify the pet bar as you wish.

As for aspects, I have disabled the Stance Bar in Bartender options (again, /bar). Simply enable it and set it up if you want to show it.

Just a few changes in Quartz, kgpanels etc.

One question: Where can I change the position of the raid and party frames?

Aloplop
You can change the position of the party frame by going into PitBull settings:
-> "/pb" in-game
-> Set Frame movement to "Unlocked with/without snap"
-> Drag the party frame where you want it to be

For the raid frame you need to configure Grid
-> "/grid" in-game
-> Layout
-> Uncheck "Frame Lock" to easily position Grid

Bear in mind that my kgpanels are linked to both the party and raid frames, so when you move them the backgrounds will follow!

Hello, Devlin! Thanks for a great interface! There is one problem... how to make a permanent display of HP? I apologize for my english.
You need to edit the lua text for PitBull to accomplish that. You need to remove the "if mouseover" and "if full hp" dependencies from this code. You find the code at

-> "/pb" in-game
-> Layout Editor
-> Choose the frame you want to show full hp at all times (Self or Target)
-> Texts
-> Lua:Health

This is the original

Code:
local s = Status(unit)
local cur, max = HP(unit), MaxHP(unit)
local r, g, b = HPColor(cur, max)
local hper=Percent(cur,max)

if s then
Outline()
return s
end

if IsMouseOver() then
Outline()
return "%s || %s || |cff%02x%02x%02x%s%%|r",Short(cur, true),Short(max, true),r,g,b,Percent(cur,max)
end

if cur==max then
return
else
Outline()
return "|cff%02x%02x%02x%s%%|r",r,g,b,Percent(cur,max)
end

Replace with this code below if you want to permanently show HP

Code:
local s = Status(unit)
local cur, max = HP(unit), MaxHP(unit)
local r, g, b = HPColor(cur, max)
local hper=Percent(cur,max)

if s then
Outline()
return s
else
Outline()
return "%s || %s || |cff%02x%02x%02x%s%%|r",Short(cur, true),Short(max, true),r,g,b,Percent(cur,max)
end
Hope that helps!

Hey! Glad you like the UI! As mentioned earlier, this UI is made for 1680x1050, which means that using it in other resolutions may or may not require extra work from your end. Getting this UI to work on other resolutions is something I've always wanted, but it requires quite a bit of extra work, which is something I haven't done so far. If I find some free time to set it up for multiple UI's I will do so, but I can't promise anything right now.

If you really like the UI feel free to modify it for your resolution.

Hope you get it working!

Updated for 4.1!

Hey guys!

4.1 is upon us, and with that I have updated this UI! This is an "update-update" meaning there is nothing really new, except I included InspectFix, Postal and ReforgeSaver in the package.

Keep in mind that this is an early update. Not all addons are updated by the respective authors and you therefore have to make sure the "load out of date addons" box is checked in your addons option at the character screen. There is a chance I will update this UI later on as all the different addons are updated for 4.1 respectively.

Please report any issues you have with this package.

Enjoy!
