    QuestGuru is a Quest Log Enhancer.

    I have split off QuestGuru and QuestGuru Sounds into two separate addons that don't rely on each other so that the community that really missed the sounds can have them with me delaying them because of the qork being done on QuestGuru. I hope this makes at least some people happy.

    Features include:

    • Enhanced 2 page quest display in the log
    • Patch 6.0 broke QuestGuru, so this is a completely different monster
    • Conforms to the WOD map quest log (Tooltips for quests and icons showing quest status)

    I have been using it for a long while and is not half bad

    • Will try and revamp the quest tracker as I love it also. But wanted to get the Log out ASAP.

    • Need to make a in-game config window, still a work in progress.

    Q. How do I post a Bug Report?
    • A1 - Click on QuestGuru Go to the AddOn and on the right side there is a selection called "Bugs" click on that. You will need to be signed in to WoW Interface to create a bug report.
    • A2 - Or file a ticket on QuestGuru@CurseForge
    • Note:
    • Please include the version of QuestGuru you are using and copy/paste the error message you receive.
    • Please describe what you were doing when the error happened. This will help tremendously.
    Q. How do I turn on auto-tracking of quests?
    • A - Look in the options for the game itself, not QuestGuru. Under Objectives there are options to set when to track quests.
    • QuestGuru does not duplicate these settings in its own options as it could become problematic and it is not necessary to duplicate options already available.
    Q. Where can I find a version compatible with WoW patch x?
    • A. QuestGuru is supported for the current Expansion and Patch level running on the live servers. PTR versions may be supported as Alpha or Beta releases, but I offer no guarantee.

    * Blizzard API GetQuestLogLeaderBoard is failing to return information for the identified objective & quest on some quests.
    I changed the code to look for no information return and simply bypass processing for that objective after dumping some info into the chatlog.
    I've added a slashcommand to invoke the routine at will: "/qg testui1"
    For me, it's failing on "Shadow Wardens" and perhaps that's because the world tree marks are currency, not "items".
    If the quest is an event quest (get 150 marks) then the type of quest should be event and the numObjectives should be zero.

    QuestGuru History with new char P.S.
    Also just checked the History, and there is two Zone headings labeled "8" at the very bottom of the History window. There are both minus-ed out, i.e. as if there were quests that should be showing right there, but there's nothing there. Once those two are scrolled to, you get this error:

    QuestGuru History with new char
    My nephew made a DK on my account (to some of my concern). His character has been getting QuestGuru History errors everytime he's been turning in a quest in Outland. If I logout/login, it will work for one(1) quest then receive the error. Once you close out the error, History (apparently) refuses to allow the character to complete quests.

    Amend my previous post to say 'achieve tracking works 99% fine.'

    I was tracking The Masquerade before, and I completed it, and the achieve tracker did not stop tracking it. But I can't go into the achieve interface and untrack a completed achievement.

    Anyway, thought I would report this also.

    edit: if this happens to anyone else, I was able to edit the sv lua so it stopped throwing errors on login. go into WTF/account/server/character/sv/QuestGuru_Tracker.lua and deleted the lines for what achieves you are tracking. the code for that is right at the top of the file, you won't have to hunt.

    Nevermind, i figuerd it out. Happens that Carbonite has an option for the key-bind, and somehow with the patch or add-on update, that option got disabled somehow. QuestGuru is working fine once more. Thanks for such a great add-on !!!



    Hi, ive been using QuestGuru + Carbonite hand in hand. But sometime after the patch been having probs. I've updated to both addons to latest releases. When i click to view quests, the quest viewer for carbonite kicks in, and Questguru shows very small on my top left hand side (on top of my char. portrait). I disable Carbonite, and Questguru pops up normally. I dont know if thats a Carbonite issue or incompatibility issue. Really like both addons. I'll msg the Carbonite author also to see if its that addon.

    error when tracking quests
    I deleted all my QG interface addon folders and all the questguru.luas I could find in all my SV and char's SV folders, then installed the latest version of QG from here, and I'm still having issues with not being able to click quests in the log to track them in the tracker.

    i am a lua-nub and have no idea what any of that means : p.

    closing this error box and trying to click the individual tracking boxes results in extremely erratic behavior. if I click the meta box, the 2nd and 4th quests will track but not 1, 3, and 5. if I click the 1st box, it will not track, and it will also untrack quest 2. if I click anything else, it untracks whatever else is tracked, and tracks only the quest I just clicked.

    On some characters with QG enabled, the click-to-track boxes are not present in my qlog at all.

    Tracking achievements works 100% just fine. It's only the quest tracking that's messed up.

    Today I noticed that the issue is only affecting the seasonal quests from the Orphan Matron and the treat buckets. This time I checked BugSack for an error, and it looks like Datastore_Quests (used by Altoholic I think?) is conflicting with QuestGuru. I disabled Datastore and left QuestGuru enabled and it appears to be working now.

    Yes, that's a function of the History module, so you will find it on the History tab. Keep in mind that when Cataclysm hits, there will be major changes to the quests, so the built-in database that I ship with QuestGuru will be out of date until I'm able to acquire a new one.

    haha you too huh? blizzards dumb glyph ui has actually been blaming DBM for taints to it in the "GetGlyph" function. like really? We go no where near that function, it's taining itself and just blaming an addon that's in memory. 4.0.1 is just a mess. have you turned framexml logging on yet? it's full of errors, all blizzards.

    New update! This should fix some of the errors people have been getting.

    KNOWN ISSUES (please don't report):
    TAINT: QuestGuru exposes a bug in Blizzard's code that makes the game blame QuestGuru for all sorts of stuff failing. Most notably vehicle GUI and glyph problems. Please don't report these errors, I'm working on a solution.
    Edit: Forgot to mention that sorting the tracker by proximity is kinda buggy. It shouldn't give errors any more, but the quest list might be in a strange order.

    Please only report new bugs after upgrading to 1.5.1, and don't report any taint issues. Keeping the bug reports down to just new stuff makes it faster and easier for me to figure out what needs to get fixed.
