lovely addon, i replaced 2 or 3 i used to use before.
after playing around for some time i have to ask for some features

-sound: nice, but annoying if every proc plays the same file. it could be more useful if i can choose combinations of sounds and procs.

-fonts: good, but need the 'kill outline' option.

-skinning: buttonfacade is no more my friend, i love rbuttonstyler more, and maybe you can see if it's possible to skin surgetrack in some other ways.

-pulse/flash thing: nice, but when u have 5 or 6 pulsing procs it's too much discoparty.

i will continue to use this anyway, it's really nice.

I voted no for the sound feature... but my suggestion if you do decide to keep it -- leave the default sound to "none" when the addon is first loaded.

The last thing I think that you didn't at least mention from my last post is the issue of positioning. If the frame's anchor is set to left, a proc shows up in the leftmost space ONLY if the frame is unlocked and movable. If it is locked, it shows up in the CENTER of the frame.

I would suggest that it be modified so that procs show up on the side of the frame indicated by the anchor, and that you add two options for "Center Horizontally" and "Center Vertically".

Thanks again for all your hard work!
That seems not to be a bug, It was designed what it looks now, in spec.

Maybe I used the wrong phrase "Anchor", it should be "Icons Anchor".

If you set to "LEFT" then
here coming 2 spells: spell_1 spell_2,
spell_1 first and spell_2 second,

spell_2 will set the anchor "LEFT" itself to {the plus direction} of spell_1's "LEFT" , in these case. It shows like this:

EMPTY--EMPTY--EMPTY--EMPTY--EMPTY

spell_1--EMPTY--EMPTY--EMPTY--EMPTY

spell_1--spell_2--EMPTY--EMPTY--EMPTY

if spell_1 goes away,

EMPTY--spell_2--EMPTY--EMPTY--EMPTY

here comes spell_3,

spell_3--spell_2--EMPTY--EMPTY--EMPTY

and comes spell_4

spell_3--spell_2--spell_4--EMPTY--EMPTY

spell_2 goes away

spell_3--EMPTY--spell_4--EMPTY--EMPTY

I made that for one reason, make a better use of EMPTY slot avoid overwrite, If there are 6 spells, but 5 slot. the lastest one will goes in to the waiting list, and when any of other 5 spells goes away, the waiting-spell will take the place of that.

But there is still a Frame, green color, I names it "SurgeTrack_Frame.root" in lua code. You should imagine that to be a ship, loading the 5 slots above. If the ship sunk, nothing will left.
EMPTY--EMPTY--EMPTY--EMPTY--EMPTY
==============ship===============

Every steps when any spell appear or go away, the ship moves.
the ship will find a point of "centre of gravity", I've marked it "@"

EMPTY--spell_2--spell_3--EMPTY--EMPTY
============@=ship===============

At any time, ship will move its "@" point to the center of where user defined (that's the green bar center)

Code:
 EMPTY--spell_2--spell_3--EMPTY--EMPTY
==========@=ship=============    --->moving
				  CENTER

		EMPTY--spell_2--spell_3--EMPTY--EMPTY
		=========@=ship=============
				  CENTER
That's it,
If you don't like the ship moving endlessly. I will tie it up in next version. or an option for that, It will also save some CPU resource.
Thanks for the feedback, both of you!

and another thing at first I was tried to do is
go above, when spell_2 goes away there will be a EMPTY slot. I wonder if spell_4 should jumps to the EMPTY slot.
There's 2 way
1 swap the position of EMPTY slot and spell_4 , and after finish , they swap the index, spell_4's index changed to 2 , and EMPTY slot's index changed to 3, I can make a smooth moving animation.

2 swap every attribute of them, icons, stacks, count, name, cooldown.
this time, I can only make a show-up animation.

I didn't do that. I realized this is not a high efficiency method.
the structure of the icon I've designed is of no functional agility.
I should use the "bothway loop chain table". That' a big change.

and Zidomo, my friend, don't worry, "PutDownGems" will be back soon.
Someone in curse complains that "PutDownGems" is not loud enough to be heard.

r82: my favorite proc sound (its an in-game one) PutDownGems.wav is no longer available. This is with LibSharedMedia-3.0 loading properly and providing SharedMedia sounds.

And a new problem mentioned by the poster below: unlock the proc frames and move them to desired location. On a Priest alerting to when Serendipity & Surge of Light proc. Lock the bar. Now unfortunately when something procs (alone), it takes the second slot in the bar, not the first as it normally should. Which means the second thing that procs will take the third slot. And so on.

The first spell that procs only takes the proper first slot in the bar when you have the bar unlocked (which is unusable in normal play).

r58 was the peak of development for this: lack of bugs, things worked reliably, feature bloat hadn't started yet. Was nice while it lasted, good luck.

Lots of good changes in v82! Thank you also for updating the front page, so I know what procs to expect this to work for.

Log on with r77 and go into options to set things up (as it seems you have to do every upgrade; not too smooth). Choose the sound "PutDownGems" from the dropdown list as the sound to use when something procs. No problems during that session.

Then relog. The PutDownGems sound no longer occurs when a proc happens; instead, a completely random sound selection from that dropdown list is checkmarked for some reason. So go back and reselect PutDownGems.

Relog again. Yet again, a completely random sound is magically checkmarked in the option dropdown list. Have to go in there yet again and change it back to PutDownGems.

r77 isn't either reading or storing the user selected sound choice properly. Yes, I have LibSharedMedia-3.0/SharedMedia loading with both other addons and from their own folders. No other mod I run that uses sounds has a problem.

By the way, you should really put pointers to LibSharedMedia-3.0 in the TOC and include the library with the ZIP download, as this mod can use it. You shouldn't rely on users having it with some other addon.
In r77, I have changed some functions related to sound, preparing for the new feature: each sound alert for each spell. And now it is ready to work. I don't know whether I should activate that or not.

In r82, I have delete the embed for sounds and fonts, and turn on LibSharedMedia for default. Maybe it brings confusion to support both no-lib and embed-lib, which cause what you are describing.

r82 changes:
SurgeTrack becomes more complex than ever before. I enable 7 modules and each function has been separated. It took more 40-50kiB memory. Just hope it worthy.

Frame will auto-lock when you type: "/console reloadui" or relog.

Add Spell ID check to avoid wrong spells added in future.

Thank you very much again!

Is it possible to add Rune Strike for Death Knights, and Victory Rush for warriors?

It might be nice to have some options for adjusting the position of the aura names. For example, I have set my alignment to bottom and decreased the gap to 1. For aura names not to overlap other SurgeTrack icons, they would need to be moved over to the side instead of beneath. (I just disable them though -- the icon is sufficient for me)

Alignment appears to either have a bug, or be a little inconsistent. The the ST frame unlocked, it shows all five possible positions of icons, and if I gain a proc aura, the bottom slot shows that icon, since I have SurgeTrack aligned to the bottom. If I lock the frame, it appears in the middle of where all five potential icon positions were show. Can you make it so that Align: Bottom truly aligns to bottom, instead of centering icons vertically?

Profile support appears to have some bugs. I changed some settings on my mage, then attempted to copy those settings to my shaman's profile, e.g., alignment, gap size, and scale. The config menu showed all those settings at what I expected them to be, but the SurgeTrack frame still looked like default until I changed one of the values and then changed it back to what I wanted.

I play 5 different 80s so far and a handful of other alts, and keep my interface as similar between all the different classes as possible. I like addons that come with their profile set to "Default" out of the box instead of "Character - Realm". This allows me to set it once and not have to go through changing profiles on every new character I create / play. Would making that change make sense for SurgeTrack? Would other users appreciate or dislike this change?

For the record, I appreciate having the stack size hidden when that number is only 1. So I suppose if you do put it back in, make sure you have the option to choose either setting.

Very good work with this. I think SurgeTrack is making fast progress, and is an absolutely critical mod for every player to get
That's my pleasure.
And thank you very much for sharing you ideas. It's helpful.
Rune Strike for Death Knights, and Victory Rush for warriors is available in r82
try it.

options for adjusting the position of the aura names is available in r82.

Profile, you should type
Code:
/console reloadui
when you delete/reset/copy profiles. Otherwise, you won't see the changes,
and even receive lua errors before r78.
SurgeTrack init, loading, working everything is depending on profiles.
I will try to find a way to make changes AT ONCE when you change the profile, it almost hopeless until r82.

Option for stack is available in r82.

I currently use EventAlert, but will happily replace it if this one is just a bit easier to hear, since I often pop abilities based on audio alerts.

Thanks and great work!
use libSharedMedia to add your custom sounds, even a mp3 file.
thanks for your idea, I will change the default sound.

pick sounds for event / filter from stack / filter from time remains / filter from time last
These will comming soon.

Is there anything I can try to possibly debug this?

Edit: It works partially for me. All Auras, e.g. Sword&Board, Rime, Killing Machine, do not work for me. All spells like Rune Strike, Revenge and similar will be displayed.
Thanks for your report.
try other classes except Death Knight and Druid.
If it works on other classes, perhaps I've find the problem. I'll fix it in nex few hours.

I don't find that particularly natural. When there is a positive integer quantity ("1" or more), you expect that quantity to be displayed. Not for it to start displaying at "2".

So--for those who don't wish to edit the LUA (its no problem here, but a problem for others)--could we get an option for the counter to start at 1 as it was before please?
