Shadowed Unit Frames  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v4.4.11
by: Shadowed, Nevcairiel

SUF focuses on a simple configuration while maintaining the flexibility that most users will care about, preventing unnecessary bloating of the addon that sacrifices performance. While you aren't going to be able to set the health bar to be exactly 3.14 pixels outside of the unit frames, you can change options you actually care about such as bar height, ordering, frame height and so on. To speed up configuration, you can configure multiple units at the same time through the global configuration. For example, if you want to set the height of the Player, Target, Focus and Party frames to 50 then the height of Target's Target, Target's Target of Target, Focus Target to 30 you can easily do this by changing two options instead of having to do it seven times.

However, should you need a little bit of extra configuration do not despair! An advanced option is included that will unlock additional configuration giving finer control over the configuration.

Anchoring
Are you driven crazy by your party frames not aligning up exactly with your player frames, even if it's only half a pixel off? The anchoring system will let you solve all alignment issues, by allowing you to anchor a frame to another and set a simple offset from the frame it is anchored to, or by manually setting the X/Y position of the frame.

Using the screen shot as an example, if you drag the player frame the other frames will move with the player frame preserving the alignment and spacing. Each frame can still be manually positioned wherever you want, but this gives you a way of easily anchoring and moving frames around without having to use a ruler.

Zone configuration (Disabling options/units by zone type)
Units and modules can be enabled or disabled based on the type of zone you are in. For example, if you want to see party targets and party pets while you are in an arena but nowhere else then you can use the visibility options to enable it only while inside an arena. Modules can also be disabled by zone type, if you want to see party auras while in a raid instance but nowhere else you can disable the module in raid instances only.

Profiles do not have to be swapped and it is all automatic.

Units
Supports unit frames are as follows:

Player: Player, Pet, Pet Target
General: Target, Target of Target, Target of Target of Target, Focus, Focus Target
Party: Party, Party Pets, Party Targets, Party ToT
Raid: Raid, Raid Pet, Main Tank, Main Tank Target, Main Assist, Main Assist Target, Boss, Boss Target, Boss ToT, Main Assist ToT, Main Tank ToT
Arena: Arena, Arena Target, Arena Pets, Arena ToT
Battleground: Battleground, Battleground Target, Battleground Target

Features

  • Tags: Includes a simple tagging system that can be customized in virtually any way using Lua, even if something isn't included by default odds are you can make the tags
  • Incoming Heals: Supports the Blizzard Events for incoming heal data, no external libraries needed
  • Auras: Can be set to only show auras you casted, or can cast on others. Can enlarge auras that you casted, and hide the cooldown ring on the timers of auras you didn't cast as well to make it more obvious which ones you casted and which ones you didn't
  • Aura Timers: You will need a mod such as OmniCC to show timers on buffs and debuffs
  • Aura Indicators: Display colored squares or icons for certain auras on any unit
  • Fader: Fades frames when out of combat and inactive (100% mana/no target)
  • Class Power (Eclipse, Holy Power, etc): Supports all of the class power features from Eclipse to Burning Embers.
  • Highlighting: Border highlighting of frames based on mousing over them, curable debuffs, aggro or you are targeting/focusing them
  • Range Checking: Fades frames out that are out of range of you
  • Exportable Layouts: If you have a layout, or your friend has a layout you want to try out you can export/import SUF layouts by going to /suf -> Layout Manager
  • Profiles: You can change from any profile to another one without reloading your UI, should you want to use a completely different layout based on zone you can easily switch profiles without hassle

Pretty much all the general unit frame settings are in, health bars, cast bars, power bars, portraits, indicators and so on.

Modules
Basic module support is included, should you be interested in building a module see the documentation on github for more information.

I've tried every option under that category (and most options elsewhere), and I recall it being row offset when I last set the addon up and it's not working this time. I enabled advanced options and checked again and nothing in there works. Row offset seems to do nothing.

I noticed SUF still confuses pet/vehicle info in the raid frames (with party shown as raid enabled).

Today in ToC: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28546/Screen...10_112813.jpeg.

Seems to only happen for vehicles without actual mana/focus/etc like the ToC horses. If you have a pet out it simply inherits the values from the pet.

Okay. Nevermind. It magically began working when I woke up. oO It's showing now. But is there a way to get a percentage of how much exp I have into the level as well?

Thanks.

Fuhkway: Can you be more specific? What doesn't work.

Aratar: Good news is, it's not the combat text, bad news is, it was an event dispatch issue. It's been fixed and I'm pushing an update shortly.

persimmon: /suf -> Unit configuration -> Party -> Party, you should be able to change te spacing there.

Jaylek55: No, it's a SUF issue that should have been fixed. Does it work fine, then you zone into a 5-man/raid and it breaks, or does it seem to randomly break when you refresh it?

Rainman5419: I'll see if I can add a tag over the weekend to do that.

Hey Shadowed. Firstly, I love the mod. Very easy to use and a lot less clutter than other mods I've used previously. One thing that is bugging me so far is the xp bar. I want to see my value, and rested value, and percentages. All the good stuff.

I saw you told someone before me to use the following code:

Code:
local current, max = UnitXP("player"), UnitXPMax("player")
	return string.format("%d/%d (%d%% rested)", current, max, GetXPExhaustion() / max * 100)
But I have been fiddling around for the past two hours and cannot get it to work. Can you tell me EXACTLY what I need to put into the tag field?

Thanks!

Hi,

I recently switched to Suf, however, there's one problem I got with combat text option. Today in raid I noticed that on all units I enabled this, it was showing all incoming events. For instance, incoming dmg/heal of all units was showing on my player frame, not just the dmg/heal that I received. Any idea why that could happen? Could be localization issue too (using german client).

party frame problem

This is an enormously dumb question because I figured this out the first day I downloaded it (which was a pretty long time ago) but I can't find the option to change the spacing/padding between the party members in the party frame. I had to recently re-DL the addon and reinstall wow and lost all of my settings, and I feel pretty silly not being able to figure it out.

Jaylek55: Spellstone is the temporary weapon buff, yes? Does this always happen, what about when you reload?
Yes, it always happens and it is a temp buff, 60 mins to be exact. When I load into raid and 5-mans, it remains broken. But if I '/reload ui', seems to be fine. Could it be an issue with OmniCC or InlineAura?

Great work

Love this addon, and was recently able to move past X-perl after years of using it. I am missing or unable to find a feature that tells how many units are targeting me however.

I found the 'Raid Targeting Unit' option, but I'm looking for a more general feature that would include hostile enemies, people outside of my raid/group, etc. I find it can be handy for arena/BG and wonder if I've overlooked something.

It's intended, but it's too confusing for people so it's going to auto switch alphas next version.

still colorz

even with reseted profile invert colors does nothing at all for me, probably bug...

add1: Well okay it actually works if u do a few things like:
1) General\General\Enable Advanced Mode
2) And then General\General\Bars -> Override background color and set it to solid one with 100% alpha

Is this intended or am i doing something really wrong? =)

cherieann: Did you enable it in /suf -> Enabled units?

Balkeep: Turn invert HP on in /suf -> Unit configuration -> Raid -> Widget size

Cev: Game Menu -> Interface -> Help -> Enable Lua errors

redrenius: Interesting, can you email me your SV? WTF/Account/<name>/SavedVariables/ShadowedUnitFrames.lua to [email protected] You cannot get ressurection info in SUF.

acidstorm: I'll look into it when I get a chance, but most likely it's not something I can really work around.

waha: That's... unusual, email me your SV and i'll see if I can figure out why.

george100: Not sure what you mean, do you want the font only used in SUF and nowhere else?
