Shadowed Unit Frames  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v4.4.8
by: Shadowed, Nevcairiel

SUF focuses on a simple configuration while maintaining the flexibility that most users will care about, preventing unnecessary bloating of the addon that sacrifices performance. While you aren't going to be able to set the health bar to be exactly 3.14 pixels outside of the unit frames, you can change options you actually care about such as bar height, ordering, frame height and so on. To speed up configuration, you can configure multiple units at the same time through the global configuration. For example, if you want to set the height of the Player, Target, Focus and Party frames to 50 then the height of Target's Target, Target's Target of Target, Focus Target to 30 you can easily do this by changing two options instead of having to do it seven times.

However, should you need a little bit of extra configuration do not despair! An advanced option is included that will unlock additional configuration giving finer control over the configuration.

Slash commands: /shadoweduf (/suf)

Donations are not required, but are appreciated!

Anchoring
Are you driven crazy by your party frames not aligning up exactly with your player frames, even if it's only half a pixel off? The anchoring system will let you solve all alignment issues, by allowing you to anchor a frame to another and set a simple offset from the frame it is anchored to, or by manually setting the X/Y position of the frame.

Using the screen shot as an example, if you drag the player frame the other frames will move with the player frame preserving the alignment and spacing. Each frame can still be manually positioned wherever you want, but this gives you a way of easily anchoring and moving frames around without having to use a ruler.

Zone configuration (Disabling options/units by zone type)
Units and modules can be enabled or disabled based on the type of zone you are in. For example, if you want to see party targets and party pets while you are in an arena but nowhere else then you can use the visibility options to enable it only while inside an arena. Modules can also be disabled by zone type, if you want to see party auras while in a raid instance but nowhere else you can disable the module in raid instances only.

Profiles do not have to be swapped and it is all automatic.

Units
Supports unit frames are as follows:

Player: Player, Pet, Pet Target
General: Target, Target of Target, Target of Target of Target, Focus, Focus Target
Party: Party, Party Pets, Party Targets, Party ToT
Raid: Raid, Raid Pet, Main Tank, Main Tank Target, Main Assist, Main Assist Target, Boss, Boss Target, Boss ToT, Main Assist ToT, Main Tank ToT
Arena: Arena, Arena Target, Arena Pets, Arena ToT
Battleground: Battleground, Battleground Target, Battleground Target

Features

  • Tags: Includes a simple tagging system that can be customized in virtually any way using Lua, even if something isn't included by default odds are you can make the tags
  • Incoming Heals: Supports the Blizzard Events for incoming heal data, no external libraries needed
  • Auras: Can be set to only show auras you casted, or can cast on others. Can enlarge auras that you casted, and hide the cooldown ring on the timers of auras you didn't cast as well to make it more obvious which ones you casted and which ones you didn't
  • Aura Timers: You will need a mod such as OmniCC to show timers on buffs and debuffs
  • Aura Indicators: Display colored squares or icons for certain auras on any unit
  • Fader: Fades frames when out of combat and inactive (100% mana/no target)
  • Class Power (Eclipse, Holy Power, etc): Supports all of the class power features from Eclipse to Burning Embers.
  • Highlighting: Border highlighting of frames based on mousing over them, curable debuffs, aggro or you are targeting/focusing them
  • Range Checking: Fades frames out that are out of range of you
  • Exportable Layouts: If you have a layout, or your friend has a layout you want to try out you can export/import SUF layouts by going to /suf -> Layout Manager
  • Profiles: You can change from any profile to another one without reloading your UI, should you want to use a completely different layout based on zone you can easily switch profiles without hassle

Pretty much all the general unit frame settings are in, health bars, cast bars, power bars, portraits, indicators and so on.

Modules
Basic module support is included, should you be interested in building a module see the documentation on github for more information.

Hello,

There seems to be a problem with SUF that occurred after the 3.3.3a patch deployed yesterday. Buffs cannot be seen and text on the unit frames are non-existent. No matter what I do, the text for health, name, power, and etc. will not show!

Is there a fix for this?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Cev

Debuffs

There seems to be an issue with debuffs when there's no buffs.

I have my debuffs anchored to my buffs, Buff size at 16 with Self aura set at 170%. When there's debuffs on a target but no buffs the debuff seems to strech outside it's border, like my deadly poison debuff in this picture: http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/7498/debuffbug.jpg
Is there an easy fix for this that I can apply?

Also, the auras seems to be slightly zoomed in (or the border is covering parts of them), is there a way to get the border to not cover the icon but be around them instead (or zoom the icons out so you can see the full icon if that's the issue)?

Thanks for an amazing addon and thanks in advance for your help!

Edit: While I'm at it: Is there any way to get indicators on the raid frames for if a player has received a ress or one is currently being cast on someone - I'm another Xperl convert and really liked that one feature

Hi,
there seems to be an odd behavior to textures after the tiling fix,
it seems like instead of using the full width of an bar when determining how stretched out a bar texture should be, only the filled out part of the bars are used so that the full width of the texture always fits into the filled out part

you can see this very good, when using textures like fifths and fourths (i think they're part of shared media)

also this issue isn't limited to suf it seems to be an issue when setting the tiling to false because it is happening with all addons i have after they 'fixed' the tiling issue, quartz for example is having the same issue

Well, the problem is that the focus frame doesn't move, it just resets every time I relog. Going into the options, and pressing enter on one of the (already correct) values fixes it. And from that point on the focus frame moves correctly with raid size/etc.

To illustrate, on my priest, just having logged on, made a party, and focused someone: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28546/Screen...10_044142.jpeg

Just pressing enter on one of the values in the X/Y offset boxes makes fixes it... until I restart.

Add fonts

Hello,

I would like to know if there's a way to add new fonts to the default fonts? I only have 1 font "Myriad Condensed Web.ttf" in the media\fonts folder.

When I active the Skada damage meter addon, which has the "Accidental Presidency.ttf" font, the SUF takes this font as the default font. I don't know why this happens. It also happens with all the addons. When the Skada Damage meter is disabled, the "Accidental Presidency.ttf" couldn't be used for the rest of the addons (including SUF).

Best regards,

NOTE: If you have the target frame not updating on switch, update to http://www.wowace.com/addons/shadowe...-7-1-ga9d302d/ this only applies if you have that issue, nothing else of value has changed. I'll tag this in a day.

alinnia: There is not, I'll think about making them more visible somehow. Dotted/moving frame isn't a bad idea.

aryah: Not right now, you could do the height/frame scale yourself manually. You could do this:

/script ShadowUF.db.profile.units.player.scale = 1.75
/script ShadowUF.db.profile.units.player.height = 200

That would set the player frame to be scaled to 175% and the frame to have a height of 200. You would need to reload after.

maltese: No, it'll be added eventually.

waha: I take it it's critical that the focus frame actually moves with the raid frame then? I'll look into it, but it's not a huge priority.

How to make stealable buffs more noticeable?

Hi, is there a way to make Target's stealable buffs bigger and perhaps have a moving dotted frame around them also to make them more distinguishable from the other buffs?

frames

Is there a way to get the player-frame-size-scale more then 150%? or the height more then 100? want the player frame to be bigger.
And % in the health bar.

Is there a way to put the 3D portrait into a bar that is shared with the cast bar? Currently the only option is to put it into its own bar but I'd love to have it in a bar that is also the cast bar and when something is being cast, that cast bar gets overlaid the 3D portrait. Thanks!

major problems with 3.3

mac 10.4.11 having login issues, also has issues with SUF. I deleted my profile when I updated. So while fixing my bars I went to unlock them to move them around and I get lots of LUA errors, I think it was about 3 pages of errors, just when the "lock" or "unlink" buttons came up.

I know that blizzard is working on a fix for us old mac users. Is this related to my problem? Should I post the three pages of LUA errors? Should I wait to update SUF until Blizzard fixes its problems with 10.4.11? SUF has helped make me a better healer and I really miss it.

(edit)
Sorry I posted this before the update that came out today. It looks as thought it is fixed. I can now unlock and move the party and raid frames

^- Older screenshot of my priests raid frames, not using the focus target there, but it's usually anchored at the top-left of the raid frames, with X: -170, Y: -40. So they're actually anchored on the side that never resizes.

Back in 3.2 it worked fine, I was away from WoW a bit and when I came back with 3.3, upgarded my SUF/etc it started happening.

On my warrior I just have them as a huge column that grows downward, and the focus target is anchored below it, so it's on the side that actually resizes.

Where are you anchoring it? Keep in mind that the raid frames tend to resize, so if you can avoid it, I wouldn't anchor to them. I can look into it, but I think this is going to mostly be a "Don't anchor to the raid frames" kind of thing.

Not using separated raid frames. It happens on both my warrior and priest, and they use quite different configs (but both lumped together).
