please accept my apology for abandoning this addon and not answering your support requests.

I don't play wow anymore and thus any request will remain unaswered.



Minimalistic bag addon. It puts all your bags in one and your bank in another frame. A search function is also built-in. The screen shots explain this a lot better

Features:

  • configuration GUI. (Open with /stuffing config)
  • Searching (right-click on the "Search" text. Pressing enter, escape or clicking in the edit or clicking the close button will cancel the search. You can only search for item names).
  • Sorting. (/stuffing sort) *.
  • Filling of incomplete stacks. (/stuffing stack) *.
  • OmniCC support.
  • New: right-click the close button on the bags frame for some shortcuts to slash commands, the keyring and to hide/show the bags container.

If you stumble across any bugs, please leave a comment.

Stuff I will not implement in this addon:
  • filters like cargBags gnomed has. They are either too clumsy or they are too complicated to configure to really do what you want. And I don't like the idea that much anyway.
  • Keyring support. The keyring is great, really. Since there is the keyring, those keys don't pollute bags anymore. And it should stay that way. (Really, why is the keyring a bag? it should be a tab next to mounts and vanity pets ...).


Note on Sorting and Stacking:

By default, these operations will only operate on normal bags. If your bank is open, they will only work on the bank. You can pass an argument string to these commands to modify which bags will be sorted/stacked. The string may contain the commands, seperated by a '/':
  • c: clears the list of bags considered (e.g. remove the default set from it).
  • p: add all profession bags from your bank, if it is open, or all profession bags you carry.
  • <number>: add the bag id <number> to the set.

For example:
  • stuffing sort c/p: will clear the list (remove all bags it would normally sort) and add all the special bags you currently carry (the command /stuffing psort does the same).
  • /stuffing sort c/0,1: sort only the bags with the ids 0 and 1.

Great idea with the gold display, added that in 0.0.5. Bank buttons etc. will also be trashed when closing the bank window (note that the memory is not instantly garbage collected when you close the bank window!). I also have bank and bags a higher strata. The bank should no longer be behind action bars etc. (the bank has a lower strata so the bags are always in the foreground).

The config stuff will go into a saved variable once the config GUI is complete (which i haven't started to write, yet). But expect it anytime soon.

I tried again with broker_repair + Stuffing but it still works for me. Even tried with all addons disabled, except Stuffing, Broker_repair and chocolate bar and at the same repair guy. No idea what the problem could be.

I couldn't reproduce the bank layout problem you described either. I tried with different characters and each with different column settings. Everything looked fine.

6. /sfn might be a good, short one.

All in all, it's a great addon and I don't mind the memory usage: heck, that's why we have several Gb of RAM :]

Few things though:
- I suppose you'll make the config variables/profiles based. In case you won't, would it be possible to make it like SnowfallAction? Kind of a separate addon that will never be updated by updaters (like MMOUI Minion) and left untouched, preserving the config from update to update.
- Would it be possible to add an indicator for current owned gold? Right of Search label, and left of Close button; it'd disappear when Search is triggered. That would preserve the compactness of the addon.
- Thanks for having made Search case-insensitive

Edit: Bank frame seems to have a lower frame strata (checked the code: you intentionally did so). What's the reasoning behind this choice? Could you add an option to rise the strata? The frame is hidden behind my Domnos action bars.
It has another issue: when the bank frame is 15 columns wide (default value), only one bag is shown. I reduced this value to 9, and my bank now displays correctly. Weird.

1.) will check this later. The standard repair cursor seems to do the job, though. EDIT: just checked this. Turned autorepair and sell junk on. Made sure there is something that would need repairing and some gray stuff in the inventory. Went to a repair guy. As i opened the merchant dialog my equipment was repaired and the junk was sold. Can you please check this again with the latest version of Broker_repair and Stuffing (0.0.4 that is). Or were you using another broker repair addon?

2.) Which action do you have bound to 'b' in the keybinding options? I don't remember what the default is. But as the hooks work now, if the keybinding should only open the bags, Stuffing will only open (as opposed to toggle) the bags. The reason is, that some addons call the bag open/close/toggle functions an expect them to work like open/close/toggle. So if a function to open the bags, would toggle them, Stuffing would close. But i will look into this.

3.) That would require support for Stuffing in Tabard-o-matic. (I just sent the author of it a PM. So hopefully we will see this soon).

4.) Thats a bug and should be fixed in 0.0.4

5.) Thats good news!

6.) Yeah, will remove that in the next version. Forgot about that.

Have you tried searching for "Heavy" instead of "heavy"? Should be case insensitive, though. Will update that in the next version.
The issue has been solved. Also is the search case sensitive. Guess I'll have to live with it until you make it case insensitive.

1. I had another issue: I use broker_repair to repair my stuff and sell junk every time I open up a vendor, and everytime it has the ability to repair, the cursor changes to the repair hammer and does nothing (Stuffing seems to block thinks). No error though.

Edit: more on this. If the vendor can repair, then the auto sell junk & auto repair functions do not work (and the hammer cursor appears). If the vendor cannot repair, then all the junk is sold (but no repair obviously).

2. Oh yes, it does not react to default keybinding to close the bags ("b" does open it, but not close it).

3. Again, it does not support Tabard-o-matic which is a nice addon to differentiate tabards in your bags.

4. Border coloring by rarity does not color rare items, only epics. Is that intended?

Edit: the function seems a little hesitant from times to times. It seems for now that when the first item colored is purple, no other type of items will be colored. In the contrary to, when the first item is a green, the rest is correctly colored except for the epics.

5. Dolemite and Molinari do work perfectly.

6. You shouldn't be using /s as slash command. It could me misleading to a lot of people.

Well well...the memory part is strange.
-entering world and checking mem, Stuffing is using "20kb".
-open my bags, its using "62kb"
-open my bags at bank, allready "119kb"

Even with getting rid of the garbage in memory, it sticks to the kb values above.
can it be, that Stuffing is somehow trying to store the items in the bags??
I only ask b/c it only falls back to 20kb when i reload WoW.

About extra stuff:
i only search a bag addon which merges all bags with a new style OR just give the default bags a new design. Search feature is just fine, and i think its ok...but the rest like sorting is nonsense for me.
Honestly i like your Bag addon Stuffin and ncBags.. those 2 are my favorites in the moment ^^

I'd think it would be great if it was sorted by Rare, Quest items, etc. It would place these next to each other and also consolidate stacks. Is this something that could be implemented?

To be honest, ncBags.lua comes up as a single line of text in my editor. So i'm not sure that would work But yeah, sure. Send me a PM if you have anything special in mind.

I think it's not the search function but the fact that, at the moment, everything is kept until eternity. And all the data that is saved but never used (stuff that may or may not be used for other search functionality) of course. Don't worry, it will definitely get better. If the search turns out to be the biggest memory hog, i'll add an option to disable it. But it's too soon to decide anything about it.

Just by quality or something For instance, having all rarer stuff at the top left or top right then descends down from legendary, epic, rare, green, white, then gray. Something like that
