Threat Plates (TP for short) is a addon for customizing your nameplates. It offers a high amount of customization and tweaks to how your nameplates react and look. It also offers some unique features that are not available with any other nameplate addon. I've spent a considerable amount of time improving this addon and any comments or concerns about this addon are appreciated. I'm always looking for ways to improve this addon.

Features:

SharedMedia support and many, many, options for name, health, level, and spell text. As well as all of the standard nameplate features such as castbar and icon, elite icons / textures, skull icons / textures, raid marks, and healthbar coloring/alpha/scale.
Ace3 profiling.
Low memory footprint.
Threat system management.
Automatic talent detection and role assigning for an easy out of the box setup.
Customizable widgets.
Customizable totem nameplates.
Customizable nameplates for extra customization for specifically named units.

Commands:

/tptp - Displays options.
/tptptoggle - Toggle Role from one to the other.
/tptpdps - Toggles DPS/Healing threat plates.
/tptptank - Toggles Tank threat plates.
/tptpol - Toggles nameplate overlapping.
/tptpverbose - Toggles addon feedback text.

A considerable amount of information about options and its internal priorities are not gone into details. Most options that are enable or disable based will toggle off options that are no longer changeable once enabled or disabled. Fixed a Lua error with Auras widget that occurred when switching icon styles because an invalid default value was used for vertical alignment of duration and stack text [Comment #7324, #7325].
Fixed a Lua error that could occur in rare cases when leveling up.
Updated integrated libraries (Ace3 Release-r1341, LibCustomGlow v1.0.3-11-g5bc2b61-alpha).

I've been really wanting to redo the nameplates entirely and up the current release to something more stable with localization etc, I just haven't had the time.

All kinds of changes and optimizations have been in my mind for a while now I just need to sit down for a week and put it all together.

You'd have to edit the texture or make your own and add it to the list in the

Widgets > TargetArtWidget.lua

Disabling the special nameplate seems to just make them not have any nameplates at all, rather than simply making them not use the special nameplate. Is there any way to have special nameplates work with the threat scaling, or have disabling the special nameplate only revert it to a normal nameplate?

It could be from another addon. Try doing the same with nothing else on other than Tidy Plates and Threat Plates.

I'd look into these two addons to see if you're getting Lua errors from something:

I'm going to be adding functionality for this soon. I've been unable to really create a good way of doing this with the current setup of threat plates.

There is a very limited level of specific layering I can achieve with nameplates since they're not a secure frame.

Guess it was TP, because after today's update it's working again.
I just get some "ghost frames" (not sure how to call them) now when I mouseover some units. See screenshot:

Add that to the end there.

The ghost frames may be due to the latest Tidy Plates Beta though. See if you still get them on the current release build. v5.12.3

Tidy Plates beta is still producing nils. I may have to start using some preventative coding.

I'm sure dnltiger knows about it already.
