Little note on the betas: I've noticed some randomness with Redshift when enabled via config.lua on a fresh set of savedvariables. I'll be working out a fix for this next chance I get, but for now, if you can't get EH to show, just type '/ehz redshift' a couple times. Once it's toggled off and back on it seems to work fine from that point on.
I'll probably just remove the slash support from the modules, as it's not useful and seems to be breaking things. |

New version awaiting approval now.
r208 fixes a little glitch resulting in an inaccurate 'now' indicator when using the staticheight option. This version also adds a new feature that changes the bar icons according to the currently shown buff or debuff, when using a spell that does not have a cast time or is based on an equipment slot. For example, if you're playing a Warlock and cast Curse of Doom, the Curse bar will swap its icon over to CoD until another curse is cast. If playing a Feral Druid, Mangle's icon may swap to Trauma with a Warrior around. There is no config switch for this, though I doubt one is needed. It's kinda handy, if you ask me. I may add a toggle in the spell details eventually, but it's a low priority. Changes: Code:
r208: * The icon changes last release were screwing with the 'now' line when using the staticheight option. Fixed. * New feature! Bar icons will now change according to the buff or debuff currently shown. (see note) Note: To prevent confusion, this is only done if the bar does not track a cast time or equipment slot. A later release may limit this to bars tracking multiple auras, but for now I've erred on the side of efficiency. |

Gylindor: Axis is really just EH 2.0. Enough changes are planned for the version that it merits a name change. =P
Sinera: Turn on Lua errors (Escape menu -> Options -> Help) and log out and back in. If you don't get an error, try typing /ehz redshift. If you do, post it here and I'll get it fixed.

EH disappears on my warlock
Ahoi,
EH is working perfectly on my shadow priest and my DK, but the window is not visible when playing with my warlock. I have the whole suite enabled for all chars. (Seems a little bit stupid, I know, but what would you do when you do not know where to take a look at? I also deleted all Saved Variables appearances of EH, no avail. Any ideas? Some hint would be great. (The only and possible way to get high DPS is Event Horizon or NugRunnig. I prefer the first.) Thanks in advance. |

r202 is awaiting approval as I type this.
This release features a massive improvement to the staticheight option and generally improves a lot of things. This one's pretty close to release quality. As always, let me know if anything goes wrong. Code:
Beta notes: r202: * The staticheight option will now resize spell icons as well. If an icon's dimensions are uneven, the larger of its height or width will always be fully visible while the rest is cropped. * Bars and their icons are anchored much differently. (see note) * Bar creation is more efficient. * Prepped and streamlined a couple functions for a huge TBA feature. * Removed config.iconborder. There was no sane way to get it to play nice anymore. Note: This was done to make my job easier, but it should also fix any problems people were having with spells all displaying on a single line. Release notes: v1.9: The cake is a lie. Oh, and this doesn't even hold a candle to Axis. - NOTE: PLEASE REMOVE EventHorizon_Redshift and EventHorizon_Lines from your AddOns directory. They are no longer needed. * Core: Hopefully finally resolved those crash problems. Please let me know what you experience with this release if EH has been crashing your game at login. * Core: Integrated EH_Redshift and EH_Lines. No more trying not to break 4 addons at once. (notes 1 and 2) * Lots of optimization and streamlining. There should be an all-around performance increase with v1.9 over previous versions. * Added a workaround for Lua errors caused by a bar trying to create itself without an associated type. Still not sure what causes it. * Config: config.lua has been redocumented. Should be a lot easier to read now. * Config: Trinkets should actually be shown by default now. Pretty sure I lied in the v1.8 notes, sorry. * Config: Removed config.iconborder (no difference if you were using the defaults before). * Config: NEW OPTION! config.staticheight (disabled by default) will have EH resize the bars instead of the frame. Credit to Brusalk for the idea. (notes 3 and 4) (1): Redshift and Lines are DISABLED by default. They can be turned on in config.lua, via the options config.enableRedshift and config.Lines. (2): You can use the slash commands (/eventhorizon or /ehz) to disable Redshift and Lines per character if they are enabled in config.lua, as well. (3): For example, 'config.staticheight = 150' will make EH 150 pixels tall. With 5 shown bars, each bar will be 30 pixels tall. Spacing is still used in this mode and will act the same as it does otherwise. (4): Please be aware that this is an 'all or nothing' option. It's made for people with a specific area to place EH who do not want the frame to ever be resized. |

That's the default behavior.
Redshift starts out disabled. Look in config.lua, the option (config.enableRedshift) is near the top. Since you haven't specified whether or not you changed the option, I'm going to assume you haven't. Also, make sure you don't have EventHorizon_Redshift in your addons directory. The separate Redshift addon and the built-in version probably butt heads. Edit: Also, update to r196. r190 has a savedvariables error.

I just tried r190 out and ehz is still showing out of combat without a hostile target. The only thing that I change when I install the addon is the order of VT to be first. So it'd be nice to know if others are experiencing this as well.

Yeah, it's a Blizzard issue. It happens quite often with Rend and Serpent Sting as well, from various reports and personal experience.
Basically what happens is that (usually in a raid environment, and I've only personally noticed it in ICC) some debuffs get 'lost' to the API and won't reappear for a while or a few recasts. If you look at the target's debuffs, most other addons and the Blizzard unitframes won't see them either. There's no method to the madness, it just kinda happens. The ticks still show because when a bar is cleared some of the data still remains. The tick interval/recalculation functions don't care about whether or not a bar is present, just that ticks are happening, so they use that 'old' data to show what was left when the bar poofed. I'd love to use that as a workaround for the issue, and have a pretty good idea of how to pull it off, but there's no way to tell if anything I do will have an effect. I'll make a point of trying out some things in the next couple beta releases. |

Bars disappearing
Not sure if this has been mentioned, I'm sure it has but sometimes while I'm in a fight VT or DP bars will disappear. Ticks will still show, however sometimes they even show when the DoT has fallen off already. I've seen this happen across several versions of the addon already and I dont think there is anyway to reproduce it. Seems to just happen randomly, but very rarely.

Vorsim: Thanks for the pasties. You're missing a comma on the cooldown line of FFF (line 45), which is causing the rest of the file to error out since it doesn't know when that table entry is supposed to end. Make sure you turn on Lua error reporting in WoW's option menu (it's under the help section), it'll tell you when something like that happens. I recommend using an error handler addon such as TekErr or Bugsack to get them out of the middle of the screen. Also, just an FYI, in the main EventHorizon myconfig you only need the options you've made changes to. Here's mine for an example, you'll notice that there's far less in there than normal. Code:
