Updated for WoD
BalancePowerTracker is an addon designed to provide a highly configurable bar to track Lunar/Solar energy, Eclipse direction and Peak buff.
It also can fire wanrnings when you gain Eclipse and provides energy prediction.
It's focused on using the CPU strictly necessary and no more.
PREDICTED ENERGY:
Predicted energy analizes your current cast/GCD and adds its cast time to your current energy, so BPT predicts where your energy is going to be, and if you are going to proc any Peak or not.
Unlike former versions, calculating predicted energy is now more difficult (due to fast switch when near 0 and lag), so it's done by approximation. This means that prediction accuracy is no longer 100% (near 100 and -100 is pretty much completely accurate and near 0 you can get +2/-2, usually +1/-1 averaged)
You can configure the indicators (bar, text, icons, arrow) of the mod to either display predicted or real info.
Also, you can configure the alerts to fire when you are going to get a Peak.
(Author's note: I feel Predicted Energy is the heart of BPT, I think without this option I wouldn't have made this addon, also it has taken up most of the time invested in the addon, however, I understand people value the choice to turn this off. At least, give it a try!)
WARNING: Euphoria is untested and Astral Communion error margin is higher
Provides LibSharedMedia, Masque & MikSBT support:

Yesterday I spent nearly all afternoon checking the code, and I think I found it.
The problem is the Cooldown frames I use for the delayed updates (in order to avoid checking every frame) This delayed update was used to unregister an event used to check energy changes when changing talents (event fires also when teleporting), but the event was never unregistered because the change in the cooldown frames, this event updated BPT's internal values when reaching an eclipse, the problem is that it updated them with the wrong direction and then prevented the update for that very energy, thus locking the wrong direction (and preventing the Eclipse change) I think it should be fixed in my copy, unfortunately I don't have the time to test it (I don't have access to LFR), and I'm waiting for a error log since there's been a bug reported with Amber-shaper Un'sok fight. I'll update when I fix this problem (or if it takes too long, I'll release it without fixing it, expect a release on Friday), hoping it's fixed, (and a confirmation would be very appreciated)

I suspect the "Reversed Eclipse direction" bug may be caused by frame-rate lag or latency spikes that occur when Eclipse procs, since it happens much more frequently in LFRs and rarely if ever while soloing.

Sorry, atm there's no way to show the bar while in vehicle, although it may change in the future.

Is there a way to have it not hide itself in vehicles? I can't figure out how to do it... -.-

I've been trying to catch that bug for a long time now, but since I'm quite busy and I seldom play, it's very difficult.
I'm planning in making it update direction every time the bar is drawn, not only when reaching a Eclipse/Dying/Spec as it's now. However, any info related to this is welcomed.

Hey I've had this rare (and random) bug occur from time to time: basically the bar displays the incorrect direction after an Eclipse occurs, and so all the display becomes incorrect (e.g. I just hit Solar Eclipse, but the arrow still points towards Solar, and when I exit Solar Eclipse the bar says now I'm in Lunar Eclipse even though I just exited Solar). This happens very rarely and is difficult to reproduce, but I wonder if there's a way of preventing this happening - add a self-correcting mechanism to check if the direction is correct.

The var was set to nil by a call to the WoW API (UnitCastingInfo or UnitChannelInfo), and I thought they were pretty much safe. However, I'll need to revise it. Any additional info would be appreciated, thank you. |

Although I agree with you, it's a really nice art, I wont add it because I'd be stealing the art someone else has made (I know he/she released it with a public domain license, but I still don't think it's right).
You could argue that I'm hypocrite because I have a bar with Blizzard art, but I didn't copy anything, neither art nor code. I just used the files Blizz provides us to make a bar that looks the same as the default one However, there's no need to chose between them, you can use both, BPT disabled modules use 0 CPU. e: From a comment of mine in curse: Asking never hurts, and if someday I've given the impression of it bothering me, I apologize, English is not my native language and I don't know all the nuances.
