Gatherer is an addon for herbalists, miners and treasure hunters in World of Warcraft. It's main purpose is to track the closest plants, deposits and treasure locations on your minimap.
The addon does not track like a tracking ability does, rather it "remembers" where you have found various items in the past. It does this whenever you gather (perform herbalism, mining or opening) on an item, and records the specific map location in its history. From then on, whenever the item comes into range of being one of the closest 1-25 (configurable) items to your present location, it will pop up on you minimap.
When you view your World Map, you will also see the item locations marked on the particular map you are viewing there.
For more information, please visit us at http://www.gathereraddon.com/
INSTALLATION:
--------------
Extract the data to your "World of Warcraft/Interface/AddOns" directory so that the "Gatherer" directory is a subdirectory of the "AddOns" directory.
USAGE:
--------------
Just use the game as normal.
When you gather things, they will appear on your minimap and your main map.
If you want to configure the addon, click the Gatherer configuration icon floating around your minimap frame or type /gather options.
Slash Commands
/gather minimap (on|off|toggle) - controls the minimap tracking functionality
/gather mainmap (on|off|toggle) - controls the world map tracking functionality
/gather dist <n> - sets the minimap tracking distance to this number of units. (in game yards)
/gather num <n> - sets the maximum number of items to display (default=20, up to 50)
/gather herbs (on|off|toggle) - select whether to show herb data on the minimap")
/gather ore (on|off|toggle) - select whether to show mining data on the minimap")
/gather treasure (on|off|toggle) - select whether to show treasure data on the minimap")
/gather options - show the configuration dialog

Temp help,
I have moded the GatherNodes.Lua in order to carry on post patch 3.0.8, all nodes recognised and data sent between chars/guild.... I am hosting the moded Lua, till the mods gets officially updated, I know people are busy so I took the liberty of doing it myself.... http://www.insanity-pvp.com/Downloads/GatherNodes.rar just replace with whats existing in the Gatherer root folder for now... Itll give the usability till its officially sorted. |

Problem with map icons
My northrend icons are not transparent or whatever. Each icon has a black background to it, and it's making the map nearly invisible in places like storm peaks where there are tons of icethorn/lichbloom, and half of ZulDrak is blacked out by Talandra's rose. Normally, of course, you can see the map through through the icons.
Is there a fix to this, or an update that can fix it? I find myself disabling gatherer and turning it back on every little while. All of my other icons have stayed fine, but all of my northrend have been doing this. I know others have the same problem. Thanks for checking into this. |

KjKrum,
For those uncomfortable editing Lua, you can simply enter the following at the command/chat interface: /nsb off That will completely disable the SlideBar on the next load with no need to edit any files, et cetera. Happy Gatherering, Nikk

Since the WowheadDB does not include Everfrost Chip nodes, I copied the data from Wowhead and added it to my own Gatherer database by hand. Thereby, I discovered that Gatherer is not tracking Everfrost nodes correctly. Neither the ones I added by hand, nor the ones it saved on its own when I looted them, show up when "Everfrost Chip" is checked in the tracking list. They only show up when I check the "All" box for treasure nodes.

Gotcha,
Same thing as 8489 - you need to try again, or report the issue on the WoWInterface updater page. Happy Gatherering, Nikk

Xullrae,
Copy the gatherer.lua folder from ..\WorldofWarcraft\WTF\Account\<Your_WoW_Account_Name>\SavedVariables to the new machine. In fact, if you want to transfer all of your AddOns and settings, just copy the entire WTF and Interface directories from the old machine, and move them to the same location on the new machine. Happy Gatherering, Nikk

Braxxis,
The current version includes the SlideBar separately, so that the option to hide it, using /nsb off will persist through re-logging. If you are still seeing it after removing the file, then you did not remove the file from the correct location. Are you running MS Windows Vista, by chance? If so, with the advent of 3.x Blizzard moved the AddOns directory, but left the old one. Any additions or changes need to be made to the AddOns folder within the "users" directory. Happy Gatherering, Nikk
