Gatherer is an addon for herbalists, miners and treasure hunters in World of Warcraft. It's main purpose is to track the closest plants, deposits and treasure locations on your minimap.
The addon does not track like a tracking ability does, rather it "remembers" where you have found various items in the past. It does this whenever you gather (perform herbalism, mining or opening) on an item, and records the specific map location in its history. From then on, whenever the item comes into range of being one of the closest 1-25 (configurable) items to your present location, it will pop up on you minimap.
When you view your World Map, you will also see the item locations marked on the particular map you are viewing there.
For more information, please visit us at http://www.gathereraddon.com/
INSTALLATION:
--------------
Extract the data to your "World of Warcraft/Interface/AddOns" directory so that the "Gatherer" directory is a subdirectory of the "AddOns" directory.
USAGE:
--------------
Just use the game as normal.
When you gather things, they will appear on your minimap and your main map.
If you want to configure the addon, click the Gatherer configuration icon floating around your minimap frame or type /gather options.
Slash Commands
/gather minimap (on|off|toggle) - controls the minimap tracking functionality
/gather mainmap (on|off|toggle) - controls the world map tracking functionality
/gather dist <n> - sets the minimap tracking distance to this number of units. (in game yards)
/gather num <n> - sets the maximum number of items to display (default=20, up to 50)
/gather herbs (on|off|toggle) - select whether to show herb data on the minimap")
/gather ore (on|off|toggle) - select whether to show mining data on the minimap")
/gather treasure (on|off|toggle) - select whether to show treasure data on the minimap")

Getting an odd bug. Sometimes after relogging, all minimap icons for herbs become HUGE. Relogging doesn't fix it either. :/

Thanks for the update. Gatherer is so much easier than making notes manually every time I gather.

Greetings Gatherers!
Just a quick note to let you know that the yummy herbs and awesome ores of Northrend have not been forgotten, look for a Gatherer update sometime tomorrow. That is *approximately* 12 hours, or so, from now. We need to do some quick testing and such but do not anticipate any issues, so look for it then. Have a great time in Northrend!!! Lewal,
Those yellow, active node, dots are from the main Blizzard "Tracking Menu". There should be a small magnifying glass on the left of the minimap, simply left-click that and choose Mining to have it scan for mining nodes, et cetera. Only 1 thing can be actively tracked at once. Let us know of your results, Nikk

Thanks for looking into it 8^ )
Maybe ckknight (of Cartographer fame) could help out or make suggestions since there was an import function in Cartographer to import Gatherer data. Perhaps your two mods could share some compatibility which would make this miner/herbalist a very happy camper ;^ ) Great to see Gatherer is back all the same! |

Moosetrax,
Our development time is extremely limited, but will look into it. If it is not all that difficult we will see what we can do for you. Thank you, Nikk

Is there any chance you might add the ability to import data from Cartographer? I ask because at present it is unclear if this portion of the Cartographer package will continue to be supported. It would be a shame to lose all the data I have obtained.

Re: Guild/Party Sync
Hello there, Ninkasi,
If you have sharing enabled, you can automatically send nodes to your party and, or, guild as you gather them. That is working as intended. Now, if one of you has been around longer or you both have different nodes, you can share those as well. Follow the steps in Q.7 of the FAQ, at http://wiki.norganna.org/Gatherer/FAQ . Happy Gatherering, Nikk

Guild/Party Sync
Hi,
I've just installed this mod, after my mate told me too as he found it VERY helpful. We are trying to sync our databases but it seems to only do it when we're both online.. and doesn't back date nodes. Is this a issue or is it meant to be like this? Cheers on the great mod (btw we are in the same guild) |

Re: Re: Re: Where are my nodes?
JMHammer,
Sorry about that, thought your earlier comment about the nodes not looking right in EPL and Stormwind was on the "live" realms. The fact that it upgraded the old one shows it is working though- no idea what could have happened in between though. Happy you are one of the smart people who makes backups, though! Best of luck in 3.x, Nikk

Re: Re: Where are my nodes?
In any case, that was the only issue I've noted and Gatherer is doing its job with its customary efficiency. Thank you for a great addon. |
