Gatherer is an addon for herbalists, miners and treasure hunters in World of Warcraft. It's main purpose is to track the closest plants, deposits and treasure locations on your minimap.
The addon does not track like a tracking ability does, rather it "remembers" where you have found various items in the past. It does this whenever you gather (perform herbalism, mining or opening) on an item, and records the specific map location in its history. From then on, whenever the item comes into range of being one of the closest 1-25 (configurable) items to your present location, it will pop up on you minimap.
When you view your World Map, you will also see the item locations marked on the particular map you are viewing there.
For more information, please visit us at http://www.gathereraddon.com/
INSTALLATION:
--------------
Extract the data to your "World of Warcraft/Interface/AddOns" directory so that the "Gatherer" directory is a subdirectory of the "AddOns" directory.
USAGE:
--------------
Just use the game as normal.
When you gather things, they will appear on your minimap and your main map.
If you want to configure the addon, click the Gatherer configuration icon floating around your minimap frame or type /gather options.
Slash Commands
/gather minimap (on|off|toggle) - controls the minimap tracking functionality
/gather mainmap (on|off|toggle) - controls the world map tracking functionality
/gather dist <n> - sets the minimap tracking distance to this number of units. (in game yards)
/gather num <n> - sets the maximum number of items to display (default=20, up to 50)
/gather herbs (on|off|toggle) - select whether to show herb data on the minimap")
/gather ore (on|off|toggle) - select whether to show mining data on the minimap")
/gather treasure (on|off|toggle) - select whether to show treasure data on the minimap")
/gather options - show the configuration dialog

Something I noticed with the new version of gatherer in combination with the database from your website is that all the adamantite nodes in outland are no longer present. I did a fresh install of gatherer. Removing it from the Interface and WTF folders. To fix this problem I had to restore an older version of the WTF files but this leaves me with no Copper and Silver nodes in Azeroth >_<
Edit: On further investigation it's not all adamantite ore that's missing. From what I can tell there's about 2000 nodes missing between mining, herblism and treasure lootables. While this isn't a lot the one mining node I did specifically notice has being hit hardest was adamantite, with fel iron missing quite a bit as well. I point you to the Netherstorm and Blade's Edge Mountains maps where it's most noticeable. Adamantite is all but non-existent in BE.

Gatherers,
Appreciate your patience, the new version of Gatherer takes into account Blizz's last minute global variable changes and more. Hope you all enjoy it, Nikk and the team at the Norganna Family of AddOns |

Normally we can wait for it, but i cannot miss Gatherer.
And it seems the small changes for copper, silver and gold in one file is enough to work with Gatherer without new errors. You may see it as small hot-fix until the new version comes. |

Gatherers,
We appreciate your patience and want to let you know that our in-house Gatherer guru has what we think is a fix about ready. Look for a new version this weekend, as long as things go as planned. Until then, we recommend that you disable Gatherer or live with the pop-up each time you loot something that gives actual money... You could set Swatter to hide new errors, use /swat to see the list of commands. **Just be sure to turn it back on once you have updated to the new Gatherer. ;-) We will have the new version released as soon as possible, Nikk and the rest of the folks from the Norganna Family of AddOns

If you feel confident enough to modify the files yourself, you can fix this bug by editing Gatherer\Swag\LibSwag.lua. The lines you need to modify are 212, 214 and 216. The part you are modifying is the word "COPPER" to "COPPER_AMOUNT" (for line 212). The other changes on 214 and 216 are similar (SILVER to SILVER_AMOUNT and GOLD to GOLD_AMOUNT).
I have not encountered any other Gatherer bugs after making this change, but I do not use all the Gatherer features either. If you are not confident you can read my instructions and make the necessary fixes, please wait for the official update. |

Gatherers,
We are aware of the various "libswag" issues introduced by Blizzard changing a Global Variable at the last moment and will be posting a patched version as soon as we can verify and test the changes. In general, we do not recommend that folks go making hand changes, but you are free to do so if you are willing to take the risk. Thank you, Nikk and the rest of the team at the Norganna Family of AddOns |

Yes, the value COPPER SILVER and GOLD are changed to COPPER_AMOUNT SILVER_AMOUNT and GOLD_AMOUNT
A bit longer name, but that is the problem. I fix my Gatherer mod soon with new values (just search-and-change method) and that should do it. Or Gatherer fix it quickly. But that goes for ALL mods who use money tracking. |

Re: Error message after 2.4.2
I recieve this same error message when looting silver or gold as well, and only on the first mob I loot after logging in. However, I disabled Gatherer and now receive the same error from QuestHelper...

Error message after 2.4.2
I thought I'd let you know I received the following error message after looting some copper from a mob today. (Yes, my alt is low enough level that it was just copper. I didn't seem to get this error the loot involved silver or gold, but that may just be coincidence.) I've heard 2.4.2 changed some of the constants WoW is using; could that be related?

Re: HUD crashing
Hi there Forty2J,
If the versions are different, that could cause some problems- though it really should not do so. If you can get the complete error- that would be of great use. Will take a look into this and see what we can do. Appreciate the input, Nikk

HUD crashing
The HUD display is erroring out the moment I enable it (can't get you exact error atm). Any known issues here?
One thought to keep in mind is I use TomTom, which also uses Astrolabe and is on a different version.. could that be the cause? |

Re: Fix for infinite loop bug
Hi there Xanatandor,
The 3.1.1 version has been posted here, at WoWInterface since 28 March 2008. As long as the site is accessible, all updates at the main site, GathererAddOn.Com/dl , will be posted here as well. Also, the issue you mention is reflected in the changelog here and at the main site. Appreciate your providing the information though. Nikk

Fix for infinite loop bug
The new version 3.1.1 at http://gathereraddon.com/ which fixes the indefinite loop bug. The bug caused a "freeze" when porting from the new sunwell isle.
Just for your information

Re: Re: World of Warcraft 2.4 Patch
VerasGunn,
The only issue that was found, once the servers went live is that the minimap did not always display data correctly at times while in the new region, Kel'D Island. Gatherer should have been working flawlessly elsewhere. The 3.1 version, which is the full 2.4 compliant release, has no known issues. If Gatherer "doesn't work" for you, please let us know what errors you are seeing and what other addons you are running.
