As my Hunter friends can readily attest, keeping a wild pet can be a full-time job. Why, just feeding the critter when he gets hungry can throw off your routine -- you've got to rummage around in your bags, find a piece of food, make sure it's appropriate for his diet, and check your aim before tossing it to him (lest you accidentally destroy a tasty morsel). So inconvenient! Not to mention potentially dangerous... you don't want to spend so long digging through your bags that you or your pet become someone else's snack.
Never fear, Gazmik Fizzwidget is here with a new gadget to automate all your pet-food-management tasks! My incredible Feed-O-Matic features state-of-the-art nutritional analyzers to make sure your pet's hunger is satisfied with a minimum of fuss, advanced selective logic to make your pet doesn't eat anything you have another use for, and a weight optimizer to make sure the food in your bags stays well organized! You can have it automatically feed your pet when needed -- or, if you're worried about running out of food while you take a nap, you can opt to manually press the "Feed Now" button and it'll intelligently choose a food and accurately toss it to your pet. This is actually one of the first gizmos I started work on... but because I'm a perfectionist I haven't considered it ready for release until now.

Also having issues Xperl also. The icon is not showing up. If there is a way to make these two play nicely I'd be greatful.

Pet does not like....
Is there a way to remove a food from the “pets” diet? I have found that the Scopion will not eat “frog leg stew”.

I wasn't clear on what I was looking for. I want to remove it from the database. Long ago there were slash commands to edit the diet.

Very nice to see this updated for 4.x/Cata. One major problem experienced so far, though: two of the three "hungry pet" alerts are completely non-functional and/or not working correctly.
Fizzwidget Feed-O-Matic v4.0, updated standalone libraries (from WowAce) less-than-level-80 Hunter, Turtle pet, a fresh saved variables (deleted old one before upgrading to v4.0), proper foods selected in options, all "hungry" alerts selected (text, sound, flashing icon), USEnglish client/server, WoW 4.0.1 live. In addition to all the alerts selected as noted, have them set to occur when the pet falls to "Content" from Happy. Problems: 1) Most importantly, the text alert never occurs when the pet falls to Content. Strangely, the only time the alert text appears is when you actually feed the pet at the set alert level. Feed the pet at Content (via the Feed-O-Matic keybind, manually or otherwise) and chat feeds back: "(Pet name) is hungry". Have tested this many times and that's the only time the alert text appears...improperly immediately after giving the pet some food at below-Happy status. 2) The sound never occurs at all. Whether set or not the "ding" is checkmarked (the other sounds are particular to pet type), any time the happiness falls to the set level (Content), no sound ever occurs. As with the above problem, have tested this several times and been on the watch for the second the pet happiness falls; there is never any sound. 3) The only alert that actually works is the default Blizzard pet happiness icon flashing. Any time the pet happiness falls to the Content alert level, the icon starts blinking. But that doesn't mean much if you are using non-Blizzard unit frames. So hopefully the pet hungriness alerts can be fixed. |

Feature Request
As I was sitting here reading and reflecting on Feed-O-Matic, it came to me that Data Broker support would seem to be a natural.
It could show the pet status icon and allow for one click feeding of pet food as well as display the name of the food (or text of the pet's happiness) that will be fed upon left click (with optional confirmation dialog) and right click for settings etc. Perhaps even a modifier key to allow us to select a specific pet food currently in inventory from a pop-up list (no confirmation since we have to actively press a key AND click). |

Is this update legitimate?
The date indicates Feed-O-Matic was updated two days ago but the author’s website still shows the latest update was in October. |

I don't quite understand, which "Icon" it is supposed to "Flash".
I just logged in, fully expecting my pet to be a bit hungry (Honestly, I haven't fed him for a week already, what else you'd expect?) I can see a text alert, if I pick that option in interface, but I don't see anything particularly "flashy" at all. |

Pet feeding error
Getting errors that my pet wont eat that, but I have food in my bags that my pet eats. I can feed it to him manually through the regular feed button, but when I hit the macro I made I keep getting that error.
It was working about a week ago. edit** for some reason it started working fine again. The weird thing is i updated just one addon that had nothing to do with this.

IS this still the case? I don't want to use it if it's still broken...
